Question : my friends little boy!?
my friend who i haven't seen in a while has a little boy who i have only seen i few times....whenever i've seen him he has always seemed very clever for his age, wondered if anyone else thinks so.at about 10 months old he was able to do those peg puzzles and shape sorting up to 24 bits with ease and now he is 2 and 6 months he can do a 35 pc puzzles wihout the picture with ease....my other friends little girl is 4 and has trouble with it, he was helping her!?

Answer:
WOW! That's impressive. I would suggest to the mother to get him tested. That's pretty amazing.

Question : At what age can a child button/unbutton his shirt, zip and snap his pants?
I know every child does it at different ages. We already know he is behind in fine motor skills but they say no therapy yet. I work w/him at home with beading, lacing, peg games, etc. He will be 5 in Jan and cannot button or unbotton his shirt. (He CAN do the extra large buttons that are on a puzzle we have) he cannot zip or snap his jeans. He can draw a line from one end of the paper to the other but Its not straight at all. He can cut across a piece of paper but it is not straight and is very jagged b/c he cannot hold his hands steady. He has an intention tremor. He can write all his alphabet but has trouble and I can see his hands are not steady at all. They gave me a sheet with little "tests" for him and he did not do good for his age group which is 48-59 months and he is 56 months. He didnt do very well (no-he didnt know I was "testing" him) He did everything for age group of 42-47 months except the cutting one. They are still keeping an eye on things but Im wondering....at what age other children can do these things. Im worried about him and this tremor. We don't know if it will go away or not. (and it's even possible that it could get worse)thanks everyone! Thanks for your answers. His pediatrician has checked him and did many tests as well as a specialist. It is a hereditary tremor that is not caused by or in conjunction with any other problems or disorders, but I appreciate your advice.Im really just wondering right now how far behind he is with other kids his age.

Answer:
I know a couple of 6 year olds who still have trouble with this.I think the average age is about 5 years old, so he's not really that far behind and if he's 5 and can write the alphabet then that's great.

Question : Can anyone write a recursive solution to the Triangle Peg Puzzle in Java?
The object of the game is to have only one peg left standing. You can move pegs only by jumping over other pegs and when you jump over a peg, it is removed from the board.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx0IVtdsUCs

Answer:
In order to solve this, you need to do a recursive call for each possible move. So start by looking at the one open spot, then see how many pegs can jump into that spot. For each move, you are going to need a different recursive call. If that move didn't lead to a correct result, try a different move. If none of the moves work, you return false. Your base case will be if you only have one piece left (in which case you return true) or there are no more possible moves (return false). The only other thing you need to figure out is your data structure that holds the boards current configuration.

Question : Does anyone know how to solve the mac wooden puzzle game where you move the colored circles to different pegs?
If so, how???

Answer:
yes i do

Question : What Can A Child Learn from a animal mix and match game???
Here is a link that shows you what the game looks like.http://www.educationallearninggames.com/pets-mix-n-match-peg-puzzle.asp

Answer:
That's a toy meant for the very young; you're teaching small motor skills as far as physically lining up the shapes (my 2 year old would struggle with this), color matching (child thinks, "hmm, maybe I'll put the red one next to the red one), naming colors ("oh, this is called "blue"?) as well as naming animals. It looks like a cute toy; I'd buy it for my 2 year old son.

Answer:

Does anyone know the best place to get wooden puzzles? I'm looking for the old kind, w/out pegs or anything. Mostly made by Playskool in the 70's and 80's. I loved these things when I was little, and I'd really like to buy some for my children.

Theres 3 blue ones on the right and 3 red on the left with one hole in the middle. You have to make all the red ones switch to the blue ones side, and the blue ones to the red ones side. But you cant jump over your own color and you cant go backwards or jump over more than one piece. Is there a site or something that will show how to solve it?

Answer:

Question : How do you solve the hi-q brain buster puzzle?
It is a rectangle 11 hole 10 peg game. This game came with the hi-q puzzle from kohner. We need help now.

Answer:
R is a red peg, B is a blue peg, _ is an empty hole. (My game had red and blue pegs; substitute as necessary if yours has different colours.) I've written out the entire solution below, but you should be able to see the pattern after the first few lines.RRRRR_BBBBBRRRR_RBBBBBRRRRBR_BBBBRRRRBRB_BBBRRRRB_BRBBBRRR_BRBRBBBRR_RBRBRBBBRRBR_RBRBBBRRBRBR _RBBBRRBRBRBR_BBRRBRBRBRB_BRRBRBRB_BRBRRBRB_BRBRBRRB_BRBRBRBR_BRBRBRBRB_RBRBRBRBRBBR_RBRBRBRBBRBR_RB RBRBBRBRBR_RBRBBRBRBRBR_RBBRBRBRBRBR_BRBRBRBRB_RBRBRBRB_BRRBRBRB_BRBRRBRB_BRBRBRRB_BRBRBRBRRBB_RBRBR BRRBBBR_RBRBRRBBBRBR_RBRRBBBRBRBR_RRBBBRBRB_RRRBBBRB_BRRRRBBB_BRBRRRRBBBB_RBRRRRBBBBBR_RRRRBBBBB_RRR RR

Question : Do have any new ideas for abc plans nursery 2?
I have ran out of ideas. I have exhausted the classics: play doh, slime, pop-up toys, Small foam blocks, Hit-a-ball, Assorted Puzzles, Dinosaurs on green hill, small wooden blocks, baby dolls, peg boards, kitchen corner, shopping corner, cars, trains on train tracks, pizza with mini tongs, musical instrumentsage group: 15months-2 years or is predictability a good thing?

Answer:
If you find that there are activities that the children really enjoy then keep them but you can put an element of variety in them. For example with play doh use different colours (either vary it from week to week or have more than one colour out at a time).Puzzles are really good but if you find that the children are finding them too easy use puzzles with more peices. You could make the home corner into anything - for example change if from a kitchen to a shop, hairdressers, doctor's/hospital, airport, or anything you think the children might enjoy.Predictability can be a good thing but so can variety so put them together and have a predictable set of activities, environment, etc but also vary activities from what you've previously done to give the children variety
