Questions & Answers
Question : Making a gift for a friend/crush?
My friend is leaving on a jetplane and going to Japan. I thought it would be nice to make him a packet of fun things to keep him occupied in between reading. I've thought of compiling trivia/facts about Japan, riddles, brain teasers, nonograms, sudoku puzzles...but i didnt know if this is silly and i should do something completely different instead. any ideas? i just told him i would make him something. thanks
Answer:
That does sound thoughtful and a good idea. You'll probably have fun doing it too!

Question : What are some good brain teaser books on barnesandnoble.com like crossword puzzles, word searches, and sudoku?
And what is that puzzle called where its like a crossword puzzle without the clues.
Answer:
I can't think of any crosswords that lack clues, but there are crosswords that have clues listed but don't tell you where they should go. They're called diagramless or fill-ins (crusadex).Good crossword puzzle collections are the New York Times ones, anything by Will Shortz, who also does sudoku books.

Question : Poll: Are Sudoku Puzzles Violators?????????????
I posted a sudoku puzzle and it was removed that result to a yahoo violation. Yahoo says ...not a question or answer.. I disagree...This puzzle is a brain teaser that requires a process of elimination...the answer (member) has to "ask a question and provide the answer".. I did received 4 responses to the puzzle. Was my violation issued correctly or incorrectly? Why?I already knew the answers to this puzzle since I copy it from one of my suduko puzzle books..It was to test yahoo contacts knowledgeYahoo answers/resolved/sudoku puzzlesSo I was incorrectly issued violation.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkOzN7PA3L3Kk1RqyBPTpCMjzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20061 030052255AAlE94rhttp://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AsheQ61.453cWkI5fFRj4pYjzKIX;_ylv=3?qid =20060922073134AAMAcwahttp://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqE.5i3hdXVJyXYCJBJGijsjzKIX;_ylv =3?qid=20070719074328AADJjFqhttp://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AguyIs9q6vCDXDw2pS.pn2cjzKI X;_ylv=3?qid=20060721065757AAaVePk

Question : What's the link to this site?
It's a site dedicated to brain teasers, sudoku and mind games like that, and I remember there was a comic picture of an island. You could do Einstein's fish puzzle on there on this form they had where you clicked once to rule out and twice to say it was the answer. I can't find it now, does anyone know it? (Not necessarily that puzzle, I just remember that one most vividly)

Question : How to get better at math?
I know that I should practice, pay attention and whatever in class. I know that. But I want to be like my friends, they are just plain good at math, their brains are just amazing at math. How do I make my brain like that. Not for any specific math, that requires studying and practice. I just want to be good at math in general. What brain exercises can I do to make the math part of my brain smarter? When I say brain exercises I mean like Sudoku, brain teasers, cross word puzzles, reading, etc. How do I build that part of my brain?
Answer:
Logic problems will help a bit but the reason your friends are so good at math is because since they were very young they were given lots of maths problems to do as a kid and given incentives and rewards etc. When my son first learnt to walk and talk (about 1 year old) I had him doing his times tables as some of the first words he spoke, I used to sit at the top of the stairs and my wife at the bottom of the stairs, he'd count the stairs and when he got to his dad he'd get a reward, we'd do that over and over then he'd go up the stairs 1*2 = 2 2*2 = 4 etc until he memorised his two times table (conveniently we have 12 stairs), likewise for all his times tables. We have always made maths, chemistry, biology, physics etc a game for him and he enjoys solving mathematical problems. He's now seven years old and doing calculus (which is hard 'cause my calculus is rusty so I'm having to re-learn the stuff I forgot decades ago just to keep up with him). The key is love maths, make it fun, keep it fun and do lots of it.It should come as no surprise to you that the same applies to all other subjects including languages and to getting fit, or any other thing in life that you want. Knowing what you need to do is easy, getting round to actually doing it is hard.

Question : Help finding good xbox 360 games?
Just bought an xbox and am loving my new kinect! But I'd also like to try out some good console games. but it feels like hardly any of them are targeted at me. So here's what does or doesn't interest me, if you have any good recommendations, I'd love to hear them...1) I'm a girl. Don't need to get into a whole girls/boys thing, but it does make a difference. Not the girliest girl you'd ever meet, but not a huge tomboy either. Basically, cloying cuteness kind of bugs me, but the thought of getting to play an army ranger and shoot bad guys isn't that appealing either.2) On that note, not interested in shooting games. just holds zero appeal.3) nope on sports games too. have tried a few, know what would interest me, and it would sustain my interest for very long.4) I do really like puzzles, in regular. brain teasers, jigsaws, sudoku, crossword...you name it, I like it.5) Huge fan of mysteries and thrillers, so that genre would interest me. But I don't like horror. Don't know if that distinction makes sense to some, but basically I like exciting twists and turns, don't mind murder, but don't like it if it's just a axe murder slashing everyone, or if it's got a supernatural bent. But give me a good patterson, sherlock holmes, law and order, etc any day of the week.6) Have very little experience with RPG or anything like that. It does seem like a lot of those are fantasy or sci-fi themed. That doesn't interest me in particular, but it wouldn't exclude something if the game was good enough.7) I love a really good story. that would make a difference.8) Loved Mario Bros back in the day, and downloaded Braid at the recommendation of my cousin - am really liking it so far. Am also playing lego harry potter, which is really fun.Realize this is a random list, but if I just cut out the things that don't interest me (military, sports, sci-fi, and fantasy) it feels like there are no games left. So if there's a few gems I might like, but wouldn't try because they're more obscure, or i've characterized them unfairly, i'd love to hear it.
