Questions & Answers
Question : Please correct the grammar mistakes in this text?
Topic: write about one of the inventions. write about how it changed life and what would have happened if it had not been invented.Washing machine makes life easier especially for houskeepers. When I asked my mother about it, she reminded me those days on which her grandmother didn't have this device and she washed clothes by hands. She said that her mother's hands had always been chafed and raw because of washing clothes by hands. In addition, due to difficulty of that, she prefered to wash clothes every weekend or even every other weekend. So, clothes had usually been dirtier than those are now. I also remember the time when I was single and lived in a house where almost had no facility. At that time, I preferred to stack up my clothes for two weeks when I went to my town and got my mother to wash my clothes by washing machines because it was too hard for me washing clothes by hands. So, I think washing machine is one of the most important inventions and housekeeping will be very hard without it.

Question : Housekeeping?
I have a problem with my BLACK CLOTHES,I washed them in a automatic washing machine using a powdered soap but when it is done already I noticed that the shirt is covered with small pieces like small cottons and it really looks bad.I want to remove it but I can't..is there anything I can use to remove this away?a special kind of brush?where can I buy them?please help...just have my new black blouses but now it looks so old because of those like cottons sticking on it...
Answer:
You must be washing your black clothes with towels and this is what they are picking up is the lint from the towels or some garment that is shedding, I can help you with this, just add one cup of White Vinegar to your wash load and put on a full cycle without added detergent, do not add any fabric softner as Vinegar softens and removes odors and residues from your laundry it will also sanitize and disinfect Vinegar is an all purpose cleaner/degreaser and can be used all around your home and in your laundry, it is safe and gentle, also use the hottest water your laundry can handle and don't put any towels with black clothes as black tends to attract lint more than any other color, for reasons I am not sure why; but it does. Good Luck !

Question : My white laundry won't whiten! I've tried bleaching and soaking and still, discolored. Can someone help?
I haven't been married very long and I'm not very experienced at housekeeping. So far in our marriage Ive just been chucking all the laundry into the washing machine without separating, pre-treating or any of that. I was very busy and this worked for a while. Now I am at home full time because we are pregnant and I will give birth soon, and I'm nesting. So I was doing the laundry the other day and realized all the whites look awful. The worst are my husband's socks and underwear. They are grey, dingy, some look discolored and stained (sorry tmi) and of course, he doesn't really care cos if they've been washed they're clean. He doesn't mind stains. But I'm terribly embarrassed that Ive not taken care of this! So... Ive been soaking and bleaching and soaking and washing all the whites. No change! I'm using Clorox no-splash bleach. Some of the socks are nice and white but the rest of it, just looks exactly the same. What can I do because obviously the bleach isn't working. Or am I just not doing it right? Is there any hope for the underwear or should I chuck them out and get new ones? (Structurally they are still good)Thanks in advancevinegar softens laundry? Who knew!!! Man, vinegar is cheaper than softener too.
Answer:
I hear you!! I did the same thing when my hubby and I were first married. The longer I've been married, the more the dingy-ness bothers me. Unfortunately you may not be able to get your whites back white again now. You may need to try the following when you get new clothes. The best whitener I have found is to use vinegar instead of the regular liquid laundry softener. I just fill my softener dispenser in the washer with vinegar. If you don't have a dispenser, I think it's around 1 to 1 1/2 cups of distilled white vinegar I'm putting in the rinse cycle with no softener. It works just as well as softener, it's better on the environment and it whitens.

Question : My partner is obsessed with cleaning?
My partner is obsessed with cleaning. She hoovers twice a day, dust everything 2 3 times a day, the washing machine is on all the time. I don't know what to do anymore. I told her to calm down and that there is no need for everything to be spotless but she feels like whoever comes here is judging her housekeeping. I don't know how to help her and what to say to her. Her mum is the same. She is changing the bedding like every 2 days. Everything should be spotless. And now I found out she is bathing my dog once a week. Is there anything to be worried about? Friend of mine told me she might have some mental health problems? But I am sure she would have told me we have been together for 2 years now.
Answer:
She does have a mental problem. It's called OCD, and you should be worried about everything. She won't tell you because she doesn't think anything is wrong. You can't say anything to her. She learned the behavior from her mother.I'd be worried about the dog. Dogs only need to be bathed when they're dirty, not once a week.If you don't mind the behavior, live with it. If you have a problem, either leave, or TRY to convince her to get help. You won't be able to, but it's worth a try.If she is willing, have her watch Hoarders, a show on A&E, Mondays at 10:00. It probably won't do any good, but it may help YOU understand that she won't change without intervention. Hoarding is a manifestation of OCD, as is the cleaning.

Question : Is there any particular order in starting a good days housekeeping/work......?
I'm meaning ordinary every day stuff, ie a machine wash, general tidy of all rooms, grocery shopping, emptying rubbish. It would be nice to read each others tidying routines.thanks.
Answer:
I have no specific routine as there are different chores to do each day, some of which take priority over others.I was taught to start at the top and work down but I usually do the opposite.Starting in the kitchen, the heart of the home. Then to the rooms that visitors will see or use, lounge, hall, stairs. landing and bathroom. The bedrooms are done last. When everything else is clean and tidy, I see to the floors, now that is where I start at the top and work down and I'm usually upstairs by then anyway, finishing with the kitchen floor. I am not a lover of housework so try to get it over and done as early and quickly as possible, then I can get on with the things I enjoy doing. Using a kitchen timer helps speed things up a bit, it's a challenge to beat the clock!m

Question : Can A Landlord Demand You Clean Your Apartment When You're Still Living There?
So my 3 month inspection just came and went, and I received a letter in my mailbox today informing me that I've failed my inspection. When I agreed to the 3 month inspection, they said it was to make sure the unit was being properly maintained and that I hadn't damaged the property. What I didn't know, was that my 'cleaning' habits would be under review. My Letter Said:1. It was noted that all the carpeting in the unit needs to be properly vacuumed and then properly cleaned to bring the carpeting back to the condition they were in when you took possession of the unit. A: I vacuumed that VERY MORNING. Sorry, I didn't shampoo the carpet, but it's only been 3 months, and I didn't think they needed it already!2. It was noted that all of the vinyl flooring in the unit needs to be properly cleaned with a cleaning solution especially made for cleaning vinyl flooring.A: The floors are washed daily with a swiffer wet wipe, and scrubbed every Sunday (like clockwork) on hands and knees with Mr. Clean. Unfortunately, when they had someone repair the basement after rainwater floods, the sticky plastic they laid down (and never cleaned) left a weird tint on the tiles directly where the plastic was that, no amount of scrubbing can seem to get rid of. 3. It was noted that the kitchen stove needs to be properly cleaned and polished especially under the burners. A: The stove was CLEANED... And I've only ever used one of the four burners, and after just looking under it, it was spotless.. So what the heck are they talking about?!4. The refrigerator needs to be cleaned also especially around the door gaskets. A: You looked in my fridge and decided it was dirty? How could you see, considering the thing is stock full of food.. 5. The floor in the basement needs to be properly washed with cleaning solution especially made for cleaning vinylA: See answer to #26. I found the laundry/furnace room to be very cluttered. You need to know the furnace needs to be able to breath properly to work properly. Please take the time now and clean out this room and change the furnace filterA: The laundry room only houses a freezer, a roll away bed, a little green machine, and some storage boxes which are all stored UNDER THE STAIRS... How is this cluttered? And as for the furnace filter, it's been 3 months! As a first time tenant of someone who is expected to change a furnace filter, give me a little instruction.. For example, WHERE is the furnace filter? Where do I get one? For how much? And how often does it need changing? The letter concludes with:Please take the time now to address the aforementioned housekeeping issues. If the unit is not brought back up to our standards further action will be taken which may include having the unit cleaned and the cost of cleaning will be charged to your account. Then it gives me the date for a re-inspection which is a week from now..Can my landlord actually decide my apartment isn't 'clean enough' for them, hire someone else to come into my unit and clean it, and then foot me with the bill? I'd understand if I left it 'dirty' when I moved out, but come on..There's still 9 months on my lease! I've only been here for 3 months! For a single parent with a toddler, and for not seeing the notice taped to my door until the MORNING of the inspection as I was on my way out to take my toddler to the doctors, I'd say my unit was pretty dang clean!
Answer:
You can check your lease and see if it lists the cleaning, however if you want to keep your house you will probably have to buck up and clean the way they specify
