Questions & Answers
Question : What do you think of online grocery shopping?
WebVan, which has since gone out of business, had a great idea with online grocery shopping and grocery deliveries right to your home. Despite the demise of the original company, other companies conduct online grocery shopping, even some of the large grocery chains. What do you think about online grocery shopping now? Are you aware if it's available in your area? What would make you use it?

Answer:
I've never used it. I know people that have and I haven't heard any complaints. The only thing that troubles me is the personal selection of fruits, veggies, meat and milk. Those are things that I want to be in charge of, not someone else. What looks fresh to one person, may not look fresh to you.

Question : When you finish grocery shopping, and load groceries in the car, do you return your shopping cart?
When you finish grocery shopping, and load groceries in the car, do you return your shopping cart to the store, or to one of the designated areas on the parking lot for carts? I do because it helps to keep others cars from getting dents in them, but I am wondering how many others here do as well.

Answer:
I purposely park near a cart return and always return the cart. Saw a woman let go of a cart in a parking lot, it hit another car hard enough to break the taillight and put a nice size dent in the deck lid. So, the carts can definitely cause some damage.

Question : How to save money while grocery shopping?
I'm trying to save a couple bucks while grocery shopping, I wanna get past all the tricks that the store plays. Help? What are some websites where I can print out coupons?

Answer:
First of all, don't grocery shop while you're hungry, because you'll tend to buy more things.Search: Coupons.comIt should come up:)Hope I helped!

Question : My husband refuses to take the grocery list when he goes shopping. How can I get him to take it?
I am perfectly willing to do the grocery shopping, but he prefers to do it. I think it is disrespectful of my time not to take it, since I end up having to make a second trip to the store anyway for items he forgot. What should I do?

Answer:
Do the shopping yourself.

Question : Grocery Shopping?
What is something you always purchase while grocery shopping? After I get back from shopping it always appears as though I did not buy anything..almost everything I purchase has to be prepared..so there is nothing you can grab and eat...What kind of foods do you have on hand??

Answer:
KetchupPotatoesStir fry veggies (frozen in a bag)BreadBunsCoffee CreamerBoneless/skinless chicken pattiesMilk( although I could live without it)

Question : How does online grocery shopping work?
Ok this might sound a little crazy but how does online grocery shopping work? Im not sure if yall know where Meridian Mississippi is but I live there. Well just outside of Meridian. If I order groceries online would they delivery to me? Im just wondering why because im allergic to milk and its easier for me to find food and things like that online.

Answer:
As mentioned, they do work differently. Some will deliver (depending on how close you are), some will require pick up. Do call or find their website to find out their particular details. And btw re just the milk, I'm assuming you're lactose intolerant rather than actually allergic to the proteins in milk (since milk allergy is much rarer). If so, you can just keep some Lactaid (or another brand) of lactose-removing tablets at home then create your own lactose-free milk from regular milk (takes about a day of sitting). You might also get some good info about being lactose intolerant (or true milk allergy) from my answer in this previous question:http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100622015029AA1ups2...and here as well:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactose_intolerancehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dairy_allergyHTH,D iane B.

Question : Grocery shopping?
I need advise on grocery shopping for a family of 4 for at least 2 weeks at a time. I need to get organized about this and can't seem to figure out how. All help will be so appreciated. Thanks

Answer:
My best suggetion - and I do this on Saturday before I go grocery shopping - is sit down and plan a menu for each day and each meal I need to cook. As I make the menu I make a list of the ingredients. My grocery list is divided into sections of the supermarket so as I place an ingredient on my list I put it in a specific category. (Makes for less running around in the supermarket and less confusion on my list!)Then I go to my pantry and cross off any ingredient I all ready have and check to see if I am low on any 'always have' ingredients - rice, pasta, cans of stock, peanut butter, etc.It makes my life SO much easier to know in adavance what I'm cooking all week. Also, when I bring home meats and I know I am freezing them, I put them into whatever serving size. Sometimes I freeze them right in the marinade I am going to use for that meal. LABEL EVERYTHING!!Hope this helps and happy cooking!

Question : How to take six toddlers grocery shopping?
For a daycare thing, my mom has to take 6 kids from 1 year- 2 years grocery shopping. Should she put the kids in the large part of the cart? She will have one other adult helping her.

Answer:
I had a 6 seat baby buggy with safety harnesses in each seat, Very handy for field trips. It was called the Bye bye buggy by angles. it had terraced seats so all could see.Two kids in a row and three rows. and a 7th baby seat for a reclining baby on the handles.6 children that small in a store unsecured is a hazard to the children.she had better keep the trip very short at a very quiet time and be very alert. She needs another adult, so the ratio is two children to one adult. A hand for each of the kids. She might ask one of the 'rents to come along. When they are a bit older and steady on their feet, like 2 and 3, you can teach them to buddy up in 3 lines of 2 and hold hands through the store.I also taught my baby crew "Hands in" which meant they stuck their hands into their pockets and 'Look with your eyes'I could take them through a china shop with no worries after a bit of training. :) There is also the long rope that they all can hold and you put loops every foot or so and they hold on to that. Very cute.

Question : How much money do you spend monthly for grocery shopping?
I always wondered whether supermarket shopping is a way of loosing your money.I spend around $800-900 /month just for grocery items. We r a familyof four including 2 small kids.Do you think that is too much.if yes,can you suggest some ways to do some careful budgetting and planning with the grocery shopping. Thanks in advance

Answer:
That seems really steep, and I'm in Chicago. Have you ever considered a delivery service, Peapod or Amazon? At first I thought I was spending more, but then I realized that I am forced to stick to a strict list and don't overspend. It's all about the budget and list making. After you do your regular shopping, go through your receipts with a highlighter. Highlight anything that you didn't need. Are you throwing food away? If so, track what you're not using and stop buying it. These are just a few simple things I've done and it's really helped.

Question : grocery shopping...?
where do you do your grocery shopping?

Answer:
walmart, food lion, kroger, dollar general store market, aldi, sav-a-lot. depends on what i need really, if i can just run in, get it and back out again, then i go to the smaller stores, but if it is the major shopping, then mostly walmart. but we drive out of town for our meat, there is the best butcher shop about 20 miles away, if they dont have in the case what you want, they will cut it for you.
