Question : Why do girls send naked pictures of themselves to others?
Totally grossed out by young girls these days. Watching Tyra Banks, and these girls have no self-respect! Why don't they value themselves and their bodies? Is anyone else disturbed by this? I saved myself for marriage, and I was always taught to cover my body and save it for that one special person. I can't believe that girls do not value themselves these days. They are only asking for trouble. Why don't these parents pay more attention and teach their little girls?

Why is easy, women like to be noticed. Even with your values I'm sure you have a low cut top, form fitting dress, or sexy lingerie. People are more influenced by instinct than they like to admit and showing off like that is one of those instincts. Young girls have the same feelings. Of course it is inappropriate, in our society, and it is likely to lead to situations that they are not ready to handle, again, in our society. In more primitive cultures a 16 year old girl is considered an adult. She is physically mature, knows how to gather and prepare food, and how to take care of children from helping others. That is exactly where we were a few generations ago and we still have the instincts appropriate for that world. Now of course a 16 year old girl probably can't support herself or deal with the numerous other complex issues. The question of why the parents don't pay more attention was very judgmental. (Matthew 7:1-5) You don't know that they are not. With a 3 year old, you watch them because you pretty much can guarantee that they will make the wrong decision. Teens are different, they spend much more time out of your supervision. They usually go to school on their own, often have jobs, go to activities with friends. You can't take those things away because they need them to develop. So at some point they are going to be making decisions on their own. They may or may not be the decisions you expected. Teens start to assert their Independence and their own ideas. Teaching strict religious ideas does not stop that and often has the opposite of the desired effect. Working with teen youth groups I have seen many of them at camp, out of their parents supervision go absolutely wild. Worse than kids from other backgrounds. Rebellion is in the nature of teens and going to the opposite extreme often makes it worse. Many parents have been shocked to find out what their teens were doing that they didn't know about. "Because I said so" and "Thou shalt not" only work with younger kids. When they approach being adults they want to understand why. What I have found works better is to start talking with them as an adviser, saving "No" for when it is really important. Sometimes they don't listen, but making a few small mistakes against your advise teaches them the value of it. Not saying no all the time shows them it is important when I do. I have a teen daughter. She has not been taught that there is something morally wrong with her body being seen, but that it is her choice. Instead she has been taught about dressing appropriately out of respect for other people. I also have discussed with her the effect she can have and the hazard of getting a boy twice her strength wound up. There have been a couple boys that wanted to go out with her, but did not approach her respectfully and she told them no. She is making good decisions and I did not have to intercede. She is the one that will say she does not want to pose for nude pictures and is not ready for sex which is much more effective than me trying to watch her every minute. At some point every child will be on their own. I find it more comforting to know that they are making responsible decisions on their own instead of it being dependent on me to tell them right or wrong. You are also taking it as a given that nudity is wrong or show a lack of self respect. That would be a subjective opinion that does not have universal support on a societal, logical or religious basis. "The human body can remain nude and uncovered and preserve intact its splendor and its beauty... Nakedness as such is not to be equated with physical shamelessness... Immodesty is present only when nakedness plays a negative role with regard to the value of the person...The human body is not in itself shameful... Shamelessness (just like shame and modesty) is a function of the interior of a person." Pope John Paul II.I have known a number of nude models that are strong, Intelligent and confident women. They could in no way be described as foolish, immoral or as having no self respect. It is obviously a problem both socially and legally for a minor to be sending nude pictures of herself and it is a poor way for her to learn to relate to boys, but it is also not the end of her life. More of a mistake that she needs to learn from, hopefully with some guidance from her parents.

I've noticed something. There is a definite synergy between how attractive a girl is, and how intelligent she "behaves". I say "behaves" because I don't really think that pretty girls are stupid. I have a theory that maybe some good looking girls try not to be as intelligent as they possibly could be, because they don't want to intimidate guys. Any thoughts on this?

I have a theory that girls will give only certain guys hickeys depending on how secure they feel the guy is.For example I usually get hickeys from girls who seem to want something more than just a random hookup, while girls who just want one night things don't.

umm idk about that.. personally my neck is my weak spot so because i like it so much i suppose i subconsciously do it to guys. plus its something different to throw into the middle of hooking up. so i dont know if it has anything to do with marking territory but more so what the girl personally likes.
