Questions & Answers
Question : Formal reception decorations...?
I am having a very formal wedding, black, red and white with all candle lighting. I'm having a four tier cake and I was thinking about incorporating my and my fiance's little saying ("I love you more than the number of stars in the sky") into our cake. But then I got the idea to do star decorations. Like maybe star confetti on the table (not lots of it) and maybe some star cutouts hanging from the ceiling. Would this still look okay for such a formal wedding? I would like to incorporate the stars somehow, but not quite sure what to do. We are having a single red rose with clear crystals in a vase on a round mirror surrounded by tea light or votive candles for our centerpieces, so I thought maybe the silver star confetti used sparingly wouldn't be too bad... I'm not sure how I am going to incorporate the quote into our cake, but I'm thinking about having it written on the bottom tier with stars all over the cake. Nothing will be overdone if the stars are used because I know that can make the difference between nice looking and tacky... Please, any advice would be helpful. *I'm not changing my mind about using the stars somehow; I just need ideas to do so so that it doesn't clash with the formalization of the reception.
Answer:
The star confetti on the table wouldn't de-formalize (if that's even a word) your wedding, although I'd stay away from hanging stars from the ceiling, unless they're made with fabric or some type of sparkling material. I'd ask your bakery where you got the cake if they can write the saying in a beautiful cursive and float the words so that they don't look so deliberate in a straight line around the cake and ask them to add edible glitter to the cake. You could also decorate the cake table, dj booth, bars with some twinkle lights covered with tulle to simulate stars twinkling in the sky. Best of Luck!

Question : what are some decorations for a 7th grade valentines day dance that's going to be held in a gym?
my friend and i are decorating the gym for a valentines day dance at our school. we are running out of ideas for decorations. we have the basics: red and white balloons, fog machine, heart lights, banner, streamers, and glitter and confetti. the gym is very tall and its a large space so theres a lot of room to fill.the theme is red and white. any ideas?
Answer:
Some pink and red streamers and balloons. My school district usually holds a daddy daughter dance for little kids around valentines day and they have a balloon drop from the gym ceiling. They use a net and its packed with balloons and at a certain time like around 10:30 there is a count =down from ten and they all drop down.

Question : how to make a wedding bell filled with confetti using paper.what do you call this decoration?
this thingy is usually suspended over the bridal couple and showers confetti on them when it is pulled by the ribbons attached to it. what is it called? please
Answer:
It almost sounds like a pinata. Only with a pinata you hit it with a stick and it breaks open....................Anyway, this link will give you a start at looking.http://cgi.ebay.com/PINATA-WEDDING-BELL_W0QQitemZ280037498345QQihZ018QQcategoryZ3260QQssPage NameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Question : Party Decorations, Cool Ideas, Party Planning Help!?
Hi!I'm decorating the venue for my boyfriends 21st birthday party in two weeks and i want the room to be packed with decorations.I have decided on a blue, silver and cream theme and so far i have bought:silver, blue and cream '21' helium balloonssilver, blue and cream '21' normal balloonsblue and silver '21' bannersand i am going to get:blue, silver '21' confettisilver star confettisilver, blue streamersblue, silver star helium balloonscakefood... i have the basic party food sorted but if anyone has any cool ideas like forrero rochey towers, etc please let me know :)i will be getting table cloths also.If anybody can think of any more decorations or anything that i have forgotton to add to the decorations list please let me know!!
Answer:
plates, napkins, forks, knives, spoons (if needed). you could even get those clear (not the napkins) cause that would be kinda cool with out taking away from teh decorations. napkins-if time, either get 21 ones or get the monogramed with his intiails and a 21. that would be prettty cool.also try a white cholocate fondue stations (to keep with the "creme" theme). and since u got so many balloons, u shouls use them as the centerpieces on all of the tables.

Question : What are some high school graduation party decoration ideas for an artist?
My graduation party is coming up soon, and I am graduating high school with plans on going into an art/illustration major. What would be some unique decoration ideas? Most importantly, what would be some good centerpiece ideas? NOTE: The party is going to be outdoors. So no confetti/papers that will fly away.
Answer:
Get a big artist's paint palette (old fashioned wooden one) and serve fruits and cheeses on it with two big brushes = centerpiece. I'd also make a big cake that looks like a palette. Have artist themed plates. Flowers for Georgia O'Keefe, spin art for Jasper Jones, and water lilies could be for Monet. You could play Pictionary and Cranium ( the one where you use the clay). Have your friends bring something that represents each artist and the teams have to guess which artist it is. Face painting is fun too.

Question : I am thinking of opening a wedding accessory shop?
We would sell invitations, decorations, tiaras, hair accessories, table place names, bubbles, confetti. We already have an online business but feel a shop would be the next step would love any ideas or adviceour company is call Romantic Daze although we are national with the online business the shop would be in dorsetThank You :-)This is a UK based business
Answer:
This looks like you are looking for the right kind of expansion plan, but with the economic circumstances in the UK at present it may be better to try and consolidate the business to ride out any rough times ahead. You could do this by looking at the wider markets for party and prom style accessories, thinking about adding other items and services such as photography, and researching where else your current lines might be able to sell so that your could address your marketing to those areas.A physical store under these circumstances might still be a possibility, but you would need to do some detailed market research on this first to try and establish whether this would work out well. I would also suggest broader advertising than just the wedding magazines, the use of internet content such as facebook, twitter, blogs, ebay, flickr and youtube to promote your site (I did find a Romantic Daze but I don't know if it was your site), and trying to find an opportunity for some community involvement to be consistent with the Big Society / Social Enterprise / Sustainable / Olympic style culture of the UK next year.Hope this helpspositively enterprising

Question : Sweet Sixteen decorations?
My Sweet Sixteen party is November 18th its at a hall and the theme is winter wonderland. I have already decided that the colors are going to be White,Silver, and Light Blue. I have also decided that i am going to use a fake Christmas tree sprayed with fake snow and lights wrapped around it, Hundreds of balloons in silver white and blue, Garland, Tinsel, Pine cones sprayed white, White Christmas lights, Fake icicles, Hundreds of homemade and bought snowflakes hanging from the celing and taped to the walls, Westminster paper bells in white and light blue, Cotton balls with glitter on them, White confetti, Fake snow, and a large 7ft cardboard snowman as decorations. What else should i do to give it a more winter wonderland feel? I want everyone to walk in the hall and be amazed and for it to just scream winter wonderland.
Answer:
Wow, it sounds like you have everything you need already.Have sleigh bells. Maybe you can hang them so they jingle. To me, the noise of sleigh bells is very winter-wonderlandish.Have a fog machine that makes the bottom half of the room seem all misty and frosty. You can also have big light up candy canes that are your main colors, but I don't know about that. Maybe you can incorporate some christmas music. It can be a classic, or something sung by one of the more popular artist.Use blue lights.Good Luck and happy early birthday! :)

Question : Table decorations help please?
I want to use silk roses on a table for a rehearsal supper, but keep it simple and in expensive. We are having a catered bbq pork roast meal, using plastic white tablecloths in a church parish hall. I would like to use the silk red roses with a stem and some ribbon or something wrapped around them and just placed down the center of the table. I also have some wedding confetti to spread along the table. Help! I need ideas of what to do with the roses.
Answer:
You also can tie them on to the back of the chairs with some ribbon. I have seen this done and it looks fantastic. Also, you can take the rose, wrap it with ribbon (leaving the ribbon long), and placing it around or next to a votive with the confetti scattered randomly.
