Dose that scream tacky?

I think balloons are more "party", if you want balloons then get really elegant ones. I dont see too many balloons at weddings though. if it expresses your personality though, go for it! its your wedding, not everyone elses.

Question : I ran out of balloons for my niece's Birthday Party. Can I use condoms to finish the decorations?
She's young, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't know what a condom is. I have a multi-colored pack laying around that would really spice up the room, but I am somewhat curious how my in-laws and the older guests at the party would react to this.
Answer:
I'd say go without the condom balloons, you already have some balloons, leave it at that. Balloons don't make the birthday.I'm sure the adults would most certainly notice and it would become a big topic of conversation, overshadowing the actual birthday party. And your niece might just figure it out someday and then you'll be that creepy uncle who blew up condoms for a children's party.

Question : How do you make balloon decorations, like clusters/clouds? How do they go in the direction you want?
How do you make balloon decorations, like clusters/clouds? How do they go in the direction you want?
Answer:
Clusters and clouds are fairly easy to make just tie the balloons off and join together. There are loads of sites explaining and showing pictures of how to do this. If the balloons are filled with helium they will all want to go skywards. Otherwise you just twist them into position.

Question : Decorations for an event that aren't balloons?
Hi there,I am having to organise a relatively large event - it's 2nd year running - and last year it attracted roughly 700 people. The company spent *a lot* of money on balloons for decorations, and a) are feeling balloons are getting a bit stale and b) they were extremely expensive for what they were.I'm trying to come up with other ideas instead of balloons. Cost isn't the biggest factor, but will play a small part.So far, I've though of - Streamers of some description - Yes, it's balloons, but maybe a balloon arch (but that's breaking my own rule above of not having balloons...)A bit of background for the event:I work at a University and it is a BBQ to welcome brand new students to our faculty. We will be having a DJ and a BBQ and activities such as collecting various things from booths and going in the draw to win prizes.Thank you very much!
Answer:
Hmm.. For some reason I'm imagining this an outdoors event...? If cost truly isn't a major factor, I love the idea of representing each student that was invited to attend. Meaning if these are high school students you should buy a flag, or sign, or photo, something from their high school that represents them and the various roots your students came from. You could have school colored pompoms or a cardboard cut out of their high school mascot, things like that. Or you could just stick with your University decorations and make everything about your school and new beginnings.
