Question : Does anyone know anything about recording equiptment?
I'm looking for a few bits of equiptment for some musical bits and bobs. Essentially what i'm looking for is something that can play percussion (drum pads etc), software that i can record music on (and if possible add effects and fiddle about with eq for particular instruments), a pre-amp for guitars and bass, any kind of equipment or software that lets me loop instruments and finally any kind of software or synth that would create nice background noises. I'm completely lost, any particular ideas?

If you've got a decent microphone it sounds like you could do with something like Cubase. It's not cheap (there is a cheaper version called Cubase Elements) but it will do most of the things you need.http://www.steinberg.net/en/home.htmlThere is an earlier version of Cubase Elements called CubasisVST that you can probably find secondhand for a good price. I got a copy a couple of years ago for around £40.

Question : How do electronic kits produce sound?
I am looking at buying the td 12 roland electronic drum kit. I have a picture of the kit on a link at the bottom of the page for you to look at. I am basically wondering how these expenive kits produce sound?? Is it through an amp?? if so, do you have to buy them seperately? i have a frontman 212r guitar amp however i dont know if this will workSeacondly,i am wondering if you can add a normal double bass pedal to these bass pads. Answer:
The double bass pedal will work just fine. You can use headphones or a drum monitor. Guitar amps will not work well at all. Here are some to check out. Remember that in general a person practicing at home will use headphones and a person playing live will be going through a PA, so the drum amps really are just your personal on stage monitor rather than you own little personal PA for the drums so don't expect them to be really loud.
