4 years & up. Keep your creature for a short time, then let it go. This bug viewer allows children to see the bug two ways, from the top or from the side. It is watertight, so children can view tadpoles or small fish. The peeper is escape proof and won't break or tip over. Great for show and tell. Comes with a beetle replica.

Questions & Answers
Question : What is the difference between regular biology and analytical biology?
I'm in 10th grade, and my friend took analytical biology this year. I was just wondering what makes it different from regular biology. Thanks!

Answer:
There is a bit more work and more labs.

Question : What's the difference between biology and Biomedical Sciences?
I'm interested in being Pre-Med, and most students choose Biology as their major if they want to go into that field. I am planning on being a Pediatrician one day. Someone told me that Biomedical Science is the study of biology in relation to medicine, so I chose it for my major instead. Can anyone tell me what exactly this major is and whether it will benefit me to major in it instead of Biology?OR is biology a good major to stick with?

Answer:
Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy.Bio-medical science is mostly preferred in labs studying/working with human samples.

Answer:
Pittsburg State offers a Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering Technology.

Question : What good biology books can you recommend for extra reading?
Currently I'm studying A level biology and Im particularly interested in expanding my knowledge in these areas of biology : Cell biology, Genetics and Evolutionary biology .Thank you.

Answer:
If you don't already have it, or a book at its level, then "Biology: 9th Edition":http://www.amazon.com/Campbell-Biology-9th-Jane-Reece/dp/0321558235/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid= 1322248518&sr=8-1That book is used in high schools and some undergraduate introductory biology courses, and covers cell biology, genetics, and evolutionary biology. If that is not advanced enough for you (????), then ...For cell biology I'd recommend "Becker's World of the Cell: 8th Edition"http://www.amazon.com/Beckers-World-Cell-Jeff-Hardin/dp/0321716027/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF 8&qid=1322248609&sr=1-1For genetics I'd recommend "Concepts of Genetics: 10th Edition"http://www.amazon.com/Concepts-Genetics-10th-William-Klug/dp/0321724127/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&i e=UTF8&qid=1322248844&sr=1-3

Question : What's the difference between marine biology and aquatic biology?
I was looking through a college book for colleges that offer marine biology. I came to a college that offers both marine biology and aquatic biology. I always thought it was the same thing. Can you help me?

Answer:
Aquatic biology is like marine biology in that you study the ecology and behavior of plants, animals, and microbes living water; however, instead of focusing on salt water, aquatic biology majors study freshwater inland lakes, ponds, rivers, creeks, and wetlands.

Question : How would I go about becoming a biology professor in a specific branch?
I know the steps in becoming a professor but for the specific branch of biology would I need to obtain an undergraduate in biology and then get a graduate degree in the specific branch of biology? For example, if I wanted to teach gerontology would I get an undergrad in biology and grad in gerontology or would I do gerontology all the way?

Answer:
I'm not particularly aware of gerontology as a "branch of biology" (my sister has a master's degree in gerontology and both a bachelor's and doctorate in psychology), but usually your doctorate would be in a broader field, with your dissertation focused on the specific research topic of your interest. There is an advantage to having your doctoral degree in a broader subject matter, because there are usually a limited number of positions available in a specific branch, but you may be able to get one in the broader field. For example, my doctorate is in marketing. My specific branch of marketing is consumer behavior, but that refers primarily to my research interests, not to what I am able to teach. While I have taught consumer behavior courses over the years, I have also taught courses in a broad range of other subject matters within marketing, which makes me more useful to employers.

Question : BiOLOGY...???
How do the small ears of a polar bear help it to survive? Also, what is in their mother's milk that helps to keep them warm as babies?

Answer:
Since polar bears live in cold climates, hence they have evolved mechanisms to conserve the heat loss from their body. For instance they have a thick fur to conserve heat loss through the body, for the same reason they have smaller ears (notice sometimes how your ears turn red when you blush, or after a hot bath).Mother's milk doesn't have anything special to keep them special. However polar animals have higher amounts on brown fat that keeps their body temperatures constant my uncoupling the reactions in the body that create ATP thereby releasing energy.

Why may digestion be described as a breaking-down process? 5. What are enzymes?6. Name the enzymes that are important in the digestion of starch, fats, and proteins. 7. Question : Biology: Why is it dangerous to move a person that has just been in a motorcycle accident?
No silly answers please. It is for biology and I need specific words and stuff. We had a cover teacher for the lesson and she didn't explain it to us because she teaches Spanish so...Thanks.

Answer:
If a persons neck is broken and their not moved properly by some one who knows how to move a person with a broken neck, and place a neck brace on them the person could have a spinal injury and die, right then and there.
