Questions & Answers
Question : Is there any validity to handwriting analysis?
I've heard some companies are now using this as an aid in evaluating potential employees. I graduated with a 4 year degree with honors, making the dean's list more than once. I had excellent eye and hand coordination as I was an excellent receiver while playing football in high school, my hands don't shake, yet I can barely read my own handwriting. It is terrible. What might it indicate?
Answer:
Yes I really believe that handwriting analysis can be a useful tool. For example woman often write with more rounded shapes, so one can deduce from this that the rounder the text the more feminine traits the person has.I wouldn't worry about your bad handwriting though, handwriting analysis goes way beyond whether a person writes neatly or otherwise. You have heard of doctor's writing haven't you? Its well known that doctor's have very poor writing, yet we trust their knowledge and expertise just the same, so I doubt that that will indicate to a potential employer that you are not up for the job.

Question : Do you think I could be dyslexic?
HeyI've done loads of online tests for dyslexia and I got about 76% on all of them. When I did the test on http://www.testdyslexia.com/ This is what I got just over moderate for:Disorientation Reading and Spelling Attention Focus Math and Time Management Coordination/Handwriting Self-Esteem I have found a website with syptons of dislexia (http://www.dyslexia.com/library/symptoms.htm) and copyed them onto this page:1. High in IQ, yet may not test well academically; tests well orally, but not written. 2. Feels dumb; has poor self-esteem; hides or covers up weaknesses with ingenious compensatory strategies; easily frustrated and emotional about school reading or testing. 3. Talented in art, drama, music, sports, mechanics, story-telling, sales, business, designing, building, or engineering. 4. Seems to "Zone out" or daydream often; gets lost easily or loses track of time. 5. Difficulty sustaining attention; seems "hyper" or "daydreamer."6. Learns best through hands-on experience, demonstrations, experimentation, observation, and visual aids. 7. Complains of dizziness, headaches or stomach aches while reading. 8. Confused by letters, numbers, words, sequences, or verbal explanations. 9. Reading or writing shows repetitions, additions, transpositions, omissions, substitutions, and reversals in letters, numbers and/or words. 10. Complains of feeling or seeing non-existent movement while reading, writing, or copying. 11. Seems to have difficulty with vision, yet eye exams don't reveal a problem. 12. Extremely keen sighted and observant, or lacks depth perception and peripheral vision.13. Has extended hearing; hears things not said or apparent to others; easily distracted by sounds. 14. Thinks primarily with images and feeling, not sounds or words (little internal dialogue). 22. Can be class clown, trouble-maker, or too quiet. 23. Prone to ear infections; sensitive to foods, additives, and chemical products. 24. Strong sense of justice; emotionally sensitive; strives for perfection. 25. Mistakes and symptoms increase dramatically with confusion, time pressure, emotional stress, or poor health. When I am reading the backgrond is too bright and the words are blurry and sometimes double up My spelling is not really bad but its not good. I know cheating is bad but I have in most spelling tests because I new something was wrong but I didn't want to tell anyone. I hate reading out loud and make loads of mistaks but I don't mind reading in my head. What do you think it could be? If you think it is how do i tell my someone because i'm scared of doing it?
Answer:
You appear very bright and resourceful. It would be in your best interest to get evaluated by a professional. Although much of what you describe sounds linked to dyslexic tendencies, only a professional can tell for sure. Regardless, there are great methodologies and systems to assist with alternative learning styles. Perhaps it is a case of right-brained learning vs. left-brained learning. One way to approach your spelling difficulties would be to break your words down differently and into manageable pieces. You might want to check out the simple system found at www.spellacadabra.com for a start. It is essentially for children, but the process is solid.Good Luck.

Question : Yes, I would like to know if my disabled daugher can reeinstrate her financeal aid after having to leave sch
My daughter suffered a brain tumor which came back twice. Once wen she was 13 and again when she was 15. She finished high shcool as well as she could. She wanted to go to college , toook athe ACT and got in at NKU. She when only part time because of her disabilitiis of walking and handwriting. So she just quiit. She did not withdrawl or anything. She has almost full financial aid as I do not work, and she as a small amount of student loans which are now in defaule. She is not ready to go back and has the disability office behinder. My question, can she still get financial aid and the loans reinstated> She wants this so much and it would do her so much good to do this and do it right.I will appreciate any answers.Lisa Rhynhart Ashley's Mom
Answer:
financial aid is warranted to student with good financial progress. Since your daughter did not withdrawal from her courses, it is possible she got all f's. But she may get a reprieve with a stipulation, like, maybe she will have to take one class at a time or be assign a mentor to check in with.

Question : Reputable online store for living aids (house accessories) for the disabled?
I have mild CP. I'm not sure if I'm asking this correctly. I'm looking for some kind of online store (a reputable one) that sells house accessories and daily living aids for the disabled?Basically things like lifted toilet seats w/ handles, doorknob grips, aids to get in/out of vehicles easier, seats or handles to get in/out of bathtubs more easily, muscle massagers, walking canes, hammer toe straighteners, handwriting aids, handlebars for getting up out of bed, large grip toothbrushes/pens/pencils, leg support for bed, bed liners/boards for under mattress support and above mattress pads for more cushioning, back support to sit up in bed (for reading or watching tv), etc.
Answer:
This business, Wright & Filippis is local for me, but they do sell online. This is a family owned business that was started by the now deceased founder who lost his legs in a train accident. They are a strong advocate for people with disabilites. I have never encountered any problems with them.http://www.firsttoserve.com/Teddy's Mom/ Chiliswoman

Question : Can an employer fire me over an unsigned handwritten note talking trash about one of the other employees?
The note was a sarcastic response to a person who is just a total douchebag at my work. I am not admitting guilt here but it looks like they are going to try to start some shit over what is really a sarcastic but poor taste joke. It read something to the effect of that said employee is a real nice guy and should live a long time (but with aids). The thing has no signature and was found on back of one of our announcement sheets. It looks like they are going to pin it on me..whaddaya think folks? I am not going to admit any guilt or submit any handwriting here. Can they fire me over this?I work at a minimum wage grocer by the way. There is no evidence to suggest it was done by me either, just suspicion on the part of MGMT.
Answer:
If push comes to shove, they can fire you for no reason at all. Sure! In a firm with very few employees, you have rights, but they may not do you much good, since they can find a reason to fire you if they want to.If you want to keep your job, the best course is to say nothing and not get angry. If the subject gets brought up, you can say what you said here -- it looks like the note was in poor taste. If they are really pretty sure it's you who did it, denying it will only make them think that you not only use poor judgment, but also can't be trusted.Try to picture yourself running a small grocery store, and one of you employees does something like this. Would you fire them or keep them?

Question : Does anyone know what this style of cursive writing is called?
Examples are attached in the links below. http://curriculum.wcape.school.za/resource_files/38145915_Handwriting_Gr_3-WS.pdfhttp://www.edu-aid. co.za/Thanks to all who answer.
Answer:
"Official"?Cursive is linked handwritten letters modified on the fly for the linking to the letters that follow or precede. There are styles of cursive and these are a very simple modern as opposed to the flowing ornate writing of the 19th Century as shown in old textbooks. It looks like it was put together by a committee.
