Questions & Answers
Question : When using flash cards to learn a language, how do you organise them?
I'm teaching myself Latin and am just learning the basics, but would like to make flash cards for everything I learn. What would be the best way for doing this? For example, would you do verbs and nouns together? Or basic sentences in another? Or would you do it based on the difficulty? Can you make grammar flash cards? Also, any tips for learning a language would be greatly appreciated (I'm not too interested in the Latin accent, I'm only learning it so that I can read it). Thanks in advance!

Answer:
I would totally shuffle them. And yes, you can make grammar flash cards, or just use your existing flash cards that way by having the basic verb, and then reciting all the forms and tenses.

Question : flash cards?
everyone told me that i should make flash cards for my science classes and, of course, i ignored them. Two years later, i think they might actually be helpful. Can someone suggest ways to make flash cards (format? i guess) for biology, chemistry, and/or physics?help would be much appreciated.i'm more concerned with reactions and formulas than definitions

Answer:
Well its pretty easy..flash cards can be very annoying and a lot of people think of them as not useful, but in reality, they really do work if you spend time on them.To make them, say you have a word and its definition that you need to memorize. Write the word on one side of an index card, and the definition on the other side. Or if you have a question and answer you need to memorize, have the question on one side, and answer on the other. Its pretty simple, just work on it :]

Question : Flash cards?
what do you print or draw flash cards on? just a white normal A4 paper or what?PS; they will be laminated.I have index cards but they are linedI dont think it's good.what do you think?

Answer:
If it's vocabulary or whatever, put the word on the white part and the definition on the lined part.

Question : where can i buy communication flash cards for a toddler?
My son is behind on his speech and we use communication flash cards with his therapist to help him. They are pictures on a card exp: ball, car, milk, snack, bath and he pick one off a board to tell us what he wants. Looking mostly for a web site i could order something like this from. I don't have a program either to do this so if you know of a good one that would help to.

Answer:
Go Through Magazines and cut out pictures, or take pictures of your son doing those things. Paste them on 3"x5" cards, and put magnets on the back for the fridge, esp. for foods. At our local Headstart, we make books showing a child doing the 'right things' - sharing, helping, being nice with the books and toys, raising his hand- a little off the subject, but the children love to look at pictures of themselves. This can be a fun activity to do together. "Help me find a CAR" or "This dog looks like Fluffy" You get the idea.I also Love http://first-school.ws/. They have all sorts of printables and downloads. For as little a $8, you can access daycareresource.com, which has all sorts of activities for young children. Of Course, there's always E-bay for flashcards and games. Good Luck and God Bless.

Question : What were those flash cards called that came out about 15 years ago?
They had a whole set of them that they sold in stores. They had different sets of questions for different age groups. They were flash cards that had all types of information about different subjects pertaining to the certain age group. Nobody probably knows what I'm talking about but I had like the whole set of them when I was a kid, and I can't think of what they were called.

Answer:
UNOMilit flashcardsflash my brainSorry thats all I got.

Question : What are some other things you can do with flash cards?
I've just inherited several sets of flash cards for a third grade class. I'd like to set up some kind of center or independent/paired activities that make use of this resource, but using them for their original purpose is kind of boring for kids, and sometimes gets noisy. Any creative new ideas? Thanks!

Answer:
From your topics I would guess that you want to use flash cards in a math class.1) I would suggest that you write a math problem on one side of flash cards and the answer on the other side and ask them to read the question on one side and find the answer and see how many correct answers they can get.2) You could also write questions and answers in different cards. Then ask them to match the cards. Every question with its correct answer.3) You could also give a few flash cards to each student and ask them to take them home. Make up a question with the help of their parents. Then solve it and write down the answer on the other side. Then ask other students to see if they can solve those problems, check the answers from the back of each flash card and see if the answers are correct. This might be more interesting to the kids since they are not sure if the answers are correct or not. There is an online source that you could use to print out some flash cards. You may want to check that out.Hope this is of some help!

Question : where can i get the flash cards stationery to prepare for exam?
i want to prepare flash cards to have a quick reading before ma exam. where can i get those blank stationery? how much does it cost? am in CT USAcan u pls help me?

Answer:
In the old days (1980s and 1990's) we used 3x5" index cards. They are available with lines, grid lines (like graph paper) or blank. Index cards cost $2.00 or less for a pack of 100 cards. They are probably available in the office supply section of many super, grocery and drug stores.http://www.walgreens.com/store/catalog/Paper-Supplies/Ruled-Index-Cards/ID=prod4108378&navCou nt=0&navAction=push-producthttp://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/catalog/shop_product_detail.jsp?filterBy=&skuId =378760&productId=378760&navAction=jump&navCount=3We had to hand write the information on the cards but that process helped with memorization. Avery makes flash card stationary but you'd probably have to go to a well stocked office supply store and a pack of 150 costs $25.http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Products/Cards/Index-Cards/Laser-and-Ink-Jet-Index-Cards_05388. htm?N=0&Ns=&refchannel=c042fd03ab30a110VgnVCM1000002118140aRCRD
