Question : How to improve my hobby of Philately (stamp collection)?
Since 11 years I started collecting stamps. I have to develop this hobby still more. What i need to know is that is there any club, membership or any group which has Philately as its theme because its the king of hobbies. Also i need to know where to collect stamps and also empty stamp albums?

I recently started back into Stamp collecting and when I joined the Yahoo Groups that existed, all of the posts seemed to be SPAM. (Click this link and see pictures of me naked.)Anyone who cannot find porn on the internet without the help of these Email messages is in bad shape. The problem seems to be in finding meaningful discussions about the hobby of Stamp Collecting. That’s where I come in. I did find a few groups, but most of what I found was Blah! I created a few Email lists that would work for the areas of interest that I have – and am letting you all know about them in case you are frustrated as well.Here are the lists that I will maintain. And by “maintain”, I mean, I will approve every member when they join, and I will delete them if the start sending messages about naked pictures of themselves. The discussion itself will be fairly unmoderated, but it will be kept to stamps. The first issued postage stamp began with Great Britain's Penny Post. On May 6, 1840, the British Penny Black stamp was released. The Penny Black was engraved the profile of Queen Victoria's head, who remained on all British stamps for the next sixty years. Rowland Hill created the first stamp.

Question : Why has the hobby of collecting postage stamps fallen through?
First Day Covers are now available at markets for 20 cents each.My brother has a 60 year old stamp collection, including full sheets of high denomination etc., only worth face value, he now uses his collection for everyday postage, guess his investment not a complete loss.
Answer:
Too many different stamps are issued each year. There's also low demand for stamps. My opinion is it's a dying hobby like the post office.
