Question : What are some good ideas for a game room for teens?
My family and i have been wanting 2 make a game room in our house for a while, but we need some help/ideas.We have a pool table and a soda machine, but we need more stuff. So if any body has good pictures or websites that help with that stuff, or any ideas of what else to put that would be great. The room is kind of an "L" shape and has a lot of potential to be an awesome game room and is pretty good size.I always wanted like an old school kinda room with stuff from the 70's and 80's like pinball machines, pac man, etc. but i need somewhere 2 get it cheap!

Answer:
Check Craigslist in your area - if you're near any major cities, you'll often seen arcade video and pinball games up for sale there. You may also want to look into one of the multigame setups. These are typically arcade games converted to use a special PCB that includes 48 or more of the classic arcade games. See: http://www.jammaboards.com/store/60-in-1-multigame-pcb/prod_212.htmlThat link just lists the board and games, but gives you an idea of what's included. This type of setup would maximize the games, in a minimal amount of space - the game cabinets typically include all the controls (joysticks, trackballs, buttons, etc.) required for each of the various types of games.Pinballs are great as well, but can require a bit more maintenance. You don't define "cheap" - old, beater pinballs and arcade games can be had for under $500, but expect to pay more than that for the multigame setups, or a quality pinball. If you go with a pool table, invest in one of those pingpong tables that you can place on top of the pool table perhaps - doesn't take up much space when removed.

Me and my wife decided last year to make our extra room a spa room, so we got the spa 2 go put a tarp under it, I painted the walls light blue and woodwork sea green and got palm tree pictures. Now, we kind of been wanting to make a game room with a wii, popcorn machine, pinball machine ect. Which would you choose? Would you keep the spa room arround or make it into a gameroom???

Answer:
keep the spa room

Question : Pinball and Arcade Knowledge Appreciated?
I am redoing my basement to be a tropical/Hawaiian theme. My basement is also my gaming room and I was thinking that a nice tropical themed arcade and/or pinball machine would really look good and tie into the whole theme of the room. I haven't had any luck finding anything online other than one pinball machine called "Tropic Isle". http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=2661If anyone could suggest some pinball machines and arcades with a similar theme it would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:
My goodness, you were already at the right website. Head back to the Internet pinball database (http://ipdb.org) and do searches with words such as "hawaii" or "tropic" or "beach" or "surf" or "island", etc...there's dozens of pinball machines that have a theme that will work fine in your game room. Good luck!

Question : Would you give up playing a game because it's bothering a stranger?
I'm at the laundromat and I'm bored so I begin playing the pinball game they have there. Almost as soon as I start a woman walks over and says she has a headache and the noise from the game is killing her. Now of course here were are in a place with running washers and dryers, and she's coming down on me for a pinball game? Anyway I suggest to her that she sit outside on the bench then because I bought five games (you get five games for the price of three). She sighs loudly, sits five feet from me, and just keeps rubbing her head while eyeing me. Mind you this is a big room so she could at the very least sit on the opposite side of it.Does a person in a public place really have the right to complain that others need to be silent for them? Would you have stopped?

Answer:
You were 100% right to play the games you paid for. If I wanted you to stop immediately (if it were really that bad), I would have offered to reimburse you back for your unplayed games that you couldn't play because I had a headache. You bought the games. You had a right to use the machine. I'd only get mad if you bought another 5 games after I told you I had a headache.

Question : I would like to purchase a new or used arcade game online. How does it work, what should I look for?
Remodeling my basement for a small game room, interested in a new or used driving game, a pinball and possibly some shooting game. My problem is that there is no one local to me selling arcade machines so my only option is to purchase them online. I would like to buy a used game to save some money, I just don't want to get a broken game.Is there anyone out there selling like-new used games that are guaranteed to be working? Thanks!

Question : I'm making a rec. room need some ideas rember best answer gets ten points?
I've already thought of a lot tell me ideas for me and my kids.I have already thought of a: Fooseball, Air Hockey, Pool table, Pinball, Arcade games, Popcorn machine, Darts, TV, Ping Pong.

Answer:
You have a good start with the games. If you want to be unique in your game room, and stand out, try a shuffle bowler game. These are an older arcade game, lots of fun, and can be had for a few hundred bucks. A jukebox is also a fun item. Some models of jukeboxes made in the late 70's, early 80's are not collectible and can also be had for a few hundred bucks. You can have your kids help pick out the 45's to put inside. Or you can go the route of a newer 'CD' jukebox. Another thing to consider is a rec room 'theme'. Some that I've seen are based on a favorite sports team, or a tavern. A Dorm fridge and microwave are great additions as well. Even with a small budget, you can still obtain some great items. Good Luck.

Question : Which of these would you love to have in your home ?
A games room with a pool table , pinball machine and arcade gamesorAn indoor swimming pool with a baror A cinema with a popcorn machine

Answer:
Games room for me.
