Questions & Answers
Question : Can you decipher my dream?
This dream I have been having is slightly odd and reoccuring. Its almost like a movie, but I know it has some meaning. Please help...I am dating a very succesful guy, who lives in a 50+ room house, on the biggest lake. (I vaguely remember small fountains in the house)I end up finding out some secret of his and he leaves me. Later I find a secret electronic contraption of his. I find a man who works at a lingeire shop (very odd) who knows how to take it apart. The contraption has recorded info about a secret project my ex is into. I scheme with a group of people to hire an attractive girl to go with me to a basketball game (clippers v. lakers, I am not even a basketball fan in real life) to try and get his attention at a basketball game to find more info about the secret project. All the while knowing I want to still be in a relationship with this man.
Answer:
No one can interpret your dreams or tell you what they mean. Only you can do this. Never mind those who say they can tell you what your dream "means." It only means something to YOU because you give it your personal meaning.Don’t bother with dream books, dream dictionaries, internet sites that tell you to look for codes or symbols or hidden mysteries in dreams. Dreams do not contain such things. Dreams are straightforward, just like your waking thoughts. There is always a purpose to a dream. Everything that human beings think, feel, or do has a purpose. It is part of what Dr. Alfred Adler called "the psychology of use."Dreams don't come to you from outside yourself, nor do they arise from your "subconscious" or "unconscious" mind. Once you become aware of having a dream, it’s conscious. You make your dreams up. You create them, just as you create your thoughts. The purpose of your dreams while you are asleep is the same as the purpose of your thoughts while you are awake. That is, to solve your problems. Dreams and thoughts are the same thing.Figure out the purpose of a dream and the problem it is trying to solve, and you have its meaning. Dreams are thoughts while you sleep, attempting to solve your problems.

Question : Do parents have favorite children?
I am one of four kids. My older sister has already moved out leaving me with my younger brother and sister. My brother is the only boy, and my little sister is the baby. But I am just me. And I can't help but feel left out.My mother has gone to every single one of my brothers sports games. He plays both basketball and football in our high school, so it is pretty much year round. Yet she makes it to every game, sometimes multiple a week. She hasn't gone to any of my orchestra concerts since I was in elementary school, and there are only 4 a year. I was 5 minutes past curfew and I got grounded for a week. I'm fine with this. It was the rule and I broke it. But the other night my brother just didn't come home and didn't tell anyone where he was. When he finally did come home at 3 in the morning, he was simply told that if he did it again he would lose all electronic privileges. ???? These are only a couple of examples of what I see as a double standard. My little sister is 13, yet my mom still calls her the baby. She is always buying her things and gifts for no reason. And she she isn't responsible for any chores besides cleaning her room. But I'm obviously blinded by my situation. I'm only a 17 year old and I'm not a parent. Maybe it is all in my head. In which case I am just an annoying whining teenager. But I have to wonder if it isn't true that my mother has favorites. It seems it would only be natural for a parent to have a favorite child, just like people have a favorite food or color. So do parents have favorites?
Answer:
I think we're seeing a bit of "middle child syndrome" mixed in with some other factors here, where each child gets a little extra attention for a reason (your sister being the baby, and your brother as the only boy) but then you get left out. I don't think it necessarily has to do with your mother favoring your siblings.I think it's terrible that your mom has missed all of your orchestra concerts. Have you let her know that you'd like her to attend one? Either way I think she definitely should be involved in your interests as much as she is in your brother's activities.I also think it's unfair that she punishes you harder than your siblings. But that might be because you're the oldest living at home now. A lot of parents lay down harsher punishments on their oldest because they feel like if the oldest follows the rules, the younger ones will look up to them and do the same thing. Maybe this isn't what your mom is thinking, but either way I think she's just assuming that she can punish you harder because you're the oldest and more responsible. So no, I don't think that your mom is picking favorites. She's giving more attention to your siblings because they have that "tag line" of being the only boy or the youngest one. But unless there's any other information I think she loves you the same but needs to recognize that you need to see some of that love too.
