Question : What are some educational games for Wii?
My son is 6 years old and loves playing Wii games. I'd like to find some educational games that he can play to help him do better in school. I saw Reader Rabbit but it's not going to be released until May 4. Thanks for any suggestions.

Answer:
Yeah, like Big Brain Academy and games like that... Hope that helps=)

Question : What are the most educational games for a 3 year old?
Also, what are the funnest board games and/or toys for a 3 year old? I wanted to buy my little girl some news toys and games. I am looking for input on what your toddler thought was the most fun and what you thought was the most educational.

Answer:
Just about everything. I allow my one and two year old to "help" me with the housework and then I tell them the names of things. I made a list of five minute activities for busy days, containing simple activities like: throwing and catching a ball, singing and dancing to a nursery rhyme.I looove this channel from youtube: EC0urbanGeNiUs713which tells you how to make flashcards, which really work trust me :)There is also the site Brillkids and Brillbaby, with a forum, but I think that is for people with a bigger wallet (containing Your Baby Can Read-stuff) :PThen finally, if possible or if you have a satellite: cbeebies. The channel from bbc for children aged 0-7. My favourite show: show me show me, featuring two words each episode and focused on playing and being creative (avoiding to spend it all on toys haha). I also like their show Let's get squiggling, which teaches kids (and parents, I suppose) how to draw. They have a nice site with lots of things also a grownup part for the parents. I hope some of this can be useful to you, enjoy!

Question : What are some educational games for children with autism?
I am a student working with autistic children in Matagalpa, Nicaragua at a center called Rayito. What are some good educational games for children with disabilites such as autism?

Answer:
We vary enormously, so there is no simple good answer. We also come with very spiky ability profiles so we may be good and bad at two activities or skills that most people would think closely related. From colour dominoes for simple matching and taking turn awareness, through all sorts of levels to complex cooperative interactive games, what works will be individual."Roll a die and move" games may be a real challenge for some, and seriously boring for others.I help at two youth clubs for teenagers on the autistic spectrum, and some of my collection of unusual board-games have proven very successful and popular. Some needing no reading or speech or even counting, some cooperative to engage those who haven't yet accepted the idea of sometimes losing, some with decided winners and losers to help people with exactly that...The key, I suggest, is flexibility and variability, and not making the educational games too overtly educational, squeezing all the "fun" out of it.(which can teach the lesson that learning is boring or unpleasant)"This game will teach you to..."Social games may be less effective than a discussion about the same subject for those who are verbal learners. We vary.

Question : Do you use HOME-MADE educational games in your homeschool?
I love using home-made educational games and have made well over 1000 games while teaching my three children. I am now working with my grandsons. I also teach workshops on making games for learning. I would love to hear about educational games others have made and use in their homeschool.

Answer:
My kids make their own boardgames, I don't make the games myself. I feel that it's part of their educational experience to be able to logically plan out a board, and make up the rules, and find people to play with. On the other hand, I do usually carry odds-n-ends in my overalls pocket, so if we're waiting in line or in an office, we pull them out and make up a game right then. Usually at least one die, some pennies, and yarn. Other things have included paper clips, random lego pieces, pokemon cards, just what ever I've picked up from the floor while cleaning and forgotten to put away.
