Question : What are some good board games for an 8 yr old boy?
Thinking of getting some sort of a game for my little brother for Christmas. He's always looking to play board game type games with me & my sister. Any suggestions on what an 8 yr old boy might find fun?
Answer:
Buy him the DVD "Searching For Bobby Fischer" and give him a chess set with it! Chess is the most awesome board game there is!The DVD is a true story of Josh Waitskin who defeated a master chess player while he was only ten years old.http://www.amazon.com/Searching-Bobby-Fischer-Joe-Mantegna/dp/6305910340/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dv d&qid=1258957311&sr=8-1http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joshua_Waitzkin

Question : What are some safe sites to download board games, trivia games, solitaire, etc, for your computer?
Thought I would post this question here, as I feel I can trust you guys. I've had some bad experiences with trying to find game websites, with hackers and with downloaded virus's onto my pc. So I'm kinda afraid to search for game sites. I don't want to play anything on line for the same reason, just maybe some board, some trivia games or card games against the computer or a friend.
Answer:
http://zone.msn.com/en/root/freeonline.htm Msn games has awesome games, you can try them out here then download if you like them.

Question : What are the names of some zero-luck based board games?
I had a huge argument with some of my friends earlier today which resulted in a permanent ban of any luck based board games. As a result, we are left to play only games such as Chess, Checkers, or Stratego in which there is no roll of the die, flip of the coin, or drawing of the card. The problem is that all three of those games are two player games and I have four friends. Does anyone know of any games that can be played with four or more people and has zero luck involved? Also, I am referring to strategy games, not games such as trivia.
Answer:
Technically, all games have some luck element. That is, all games have an element of unpredictability (even chess). What you are looking for is games with a mininmum of random elements. Here are two: Caylus and Puerto Rico. Both are published by Rio Grande Games. Both can be played by two to five players.Oh, and Winning Moves makes a four-player Stratego game called Ultimate Stratego.

Question : What are some good ideas for a Hunger Games board game?
For my book report we have the idea of doing a board game based on our book. The book I choose is Catching Fire (second book in the Hunger Games) by Suzanne Collins. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas for a board game based on the book!!!!! please!!!!! :)
Answer:
Twelve players can play this game, no more and no less, 12 exactly. You each choose a piece that represents the district you're in, like the Mocking-jay would be the twelve district's game piece. You all put the pieces on the board, and then you draw a card. It will say something along the lines of. "You are dying of thirst, move to square three for water." Whoever finishes it first, wins the game.-Yugi Mutou

Question : What do you think the most interesting game among board games?
What do you think the most interesting game among board games?
Answer:
Settlers of Catan. It has an excellent midgame. Due to hidden factors like development cards which are covered, luck of dice, and how players will trade with one another, someone who's in last place, even trailing by no small margin could end up winning.Reiner Knizia's Samurai. I love the scoring system. This game is quite intuitive and easy to pick up. It also has a Japanese theme. Refreshing from all the gazillion medievel/elves/trolls and Warcraft/Warhammer like stuff out thereCareers. Kind of like real life, but funner. Also stats to manage, planning to be done to set goals that you can achieve and win the game

Question : What are some must-have board games for Family Game Night?

Answer:
Have chess, checkers, backgammon, monopoly, scrabble and a deck of cards. Life is good.

Question : Can anyone tell me any fun board games or card games?
My cousins and I play card games and board games almost every night during summer. Are there any fun board games and card games? And, how do you play the card game?
Answer:
Axis and Allies is a really great board game: it gets you thinking strategically, like Risk, but is more detailed, has more action, and is just generally more fun. You can play with up to five people. It can take a long time to play, though, so either plan to take a few hours or leave it set up and play over a couple of days (as long as no one cheats and moves pieces around while you're not playing!).Rummy 500 is a fun card game my family plays all the time. Here's the rules:http://www.pagat.com/rummy/500rum.htmlIf you want more card games, that website also provides links to every card game imaginable, as well as their rules.Have fun! :)
