Questions & Answers
Question : What is the title of a childrens/teenage fiction book about a girl who plays on a virtual reality game?
This is a romance type thing, about a girl who plays on a virtual reality game and has the character of roberto, she makes friends on the internet with a boy who also plays the game. They both go to the same school but don't know each other. The girl sees the boy around school and likes him, but doesn't know she her friend on the game, the boy doesn't know her and thinks that roberto is a boy in real life. There are some other people who play, it gets a bit competitive, they find out about each other at the end, that sort of thing. I thought this book was called 'E-Love' but apparently not, it has a lime green cover, I think. I hope someone can help, thanks.

Answer:
This sounds similar to Vivian Vande Velde's "Heir Apparent." I don't think that that is the book you are talking about, but you might like reading it if you liked this other one.

Question : What movie is based around a virtual reality game?
What movie is based around a virtual reality game that a woman made that you play by inserting something into your lower back and at the end a man and woman pull guns out from under a dog (i believe) and kill everyone in a room?

Answer:
The movie is called eXistenZ by David Cronenberg. They insert this small worm looking thing inside the back of the spine where there's a hole. The entire movie is virtual reality...like a video game. The movie has Jude Law and Jennifer Jason Leigh in it. Here's a trailer to confirm: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAdbdUt_h9M

Can someone help me find a reference on the psychological impact of virtual reality on teenagers ??thanks chris ! Can someone help me find a reference on the psychological impact of virtual reality on teenagers ??

Question : Do you think the Human race would ever develop Virtual Reality Simulators?
What i mean is, you Pop a helmet on. And your in a COMPLETELY new world. All virtual reality, could be used for next generation games in the future. So you could move in the reality and be with other people, you could touch; and feel. You could taste (Serverly doubt it). Or none of them it doesnt matter. But seeing the amount of technilogical advances today. I really hope there would be something like this in the future. What do you think, and what are your views? They've already developed 3D gaming.

Answer:
I saw a video on youtube where this company had a guy put on 3d glasses. Then on the floor and 3 walls in front of him they projected 3d movies. They had what looked like an outdoor scene filmed in Greece. He was standing at the top of stone stairs that went far down the side of a tall hill. It was funny watching the guy try and walk down the steps because the kept loosing his balance. To him it actually looked like he was at the top of a set of stairs all in 3d.

Question : What would it take to create the perfect virtual reality?
I know this is all hypothetical, but what would it take to make a completely realistic virtual world? Like the kind in the movies and video games. Where the person inside can't even detect that what they're experiencing isn't real. For example, you'd have to block all sensory input to the brain and replace it with sensory input from the virtual environment. Then figure out someway to hook up motor output functions to the device so that it would appear that you could maneuver through the reality. What else would it take? Any ideas?

Answer:
First, you would have to have a device to manipulate the brain into "thinking it's somewhere else" and not the real world. Kind of like the device the Riddler uses in Batman Forever. It would have to control your interactions in the game so that certain things can't happen to you, like dying or getting raped or something bad like that. Second, you would have to have another device to read and record how the brain is responding to its new environment at all times, to ensure that the person won't get "lost" in this new world. You'd need to have all the programmers and probabilitists to control/calculate the odds of something happening within the game. You'd need to have multiple ways to complete the game or else it really wouldn't be that enjoyable. Though not necessarily needed, the game should be open to multiple kinds of people, that way anybody can afford it. Happy to give my imput.
