Questions & Answers
Question : What do i need for my home theatre setup?
I believe what i need is an amp but not sure. I basically have a computer setup where i play all my games and listen to all my music. Currently have a 5.1 setup and a regular woofer setup with a splitter plugged into the back of my computer. And my tv has some of the worst speakers i have ever heard. I used to have a sub woofer that i was able to hook up to both of these, it had a built in amp. But lately have found some very large speakers. At least 2-3 feet tall each, one speaker one woofer each. Problem is they have the home theatre, "old school" for my age plugs. Just the wire and clamp plug. Now i want to be able to hook both my computer and tv together to both of these speakers, and maybe even my 5.1 setup. But i need to be able to switch the sound between the two, so i dont have video game gun shots going off when im watching a comedy. If any one knows what i should do to get this setup. Or know of a really nice amp for cheap that will allow me to do this pls let me know. Thanks, and sorry for the very long question.SHORT VERSIONWant to be able to hook up both my computer and tv to these two very large speakers i have, that i believe are for a home theatre system, and am not sure what i need(an amp?) to be able to do this.

Answer:
A new Amp most any will do the trick. you should be able to hook your new "old school" speakers in no prob. hook you tv up and through AUX hook up the Comp. You will probrably need an analog converter to hook your comp up. I had an Awia amp but kept overloading it when played too loud. GOOD LUCK..B.A. right Here<<<---

Question : HDMi home cinema set up please rate my system?
I am by no means an audio-phile or a video-phile but i do appreciate a decent system. anyways i rececently upgraded my who living set up and decided to go the whole hog, so i have fully hd'd out..so here are the components of my system..the nerve centre of my whole system being the SONY STR-DG710 av amp /hdmiSONY BRAVIA 32" S series hdmi TVSONY PS3 which handles the blu rays beautifully and does an excellent job of upscaling my DVD's! best games aswell!!SKY HD digiboxAPPLE i-phone for music..speakers... ELTAX active subwooferSONY PASCAL front centre and front left and right speakers..SONY IS-10 golfball rear surround speakersthis is all bound together with el cheapo HDMi cables, at £5 a pop from argos! this is toooo easy!" single cable connection for crystal clear audio and video! why was this not invented soonerand in my opinion sounds and look better than everything i have ever seen before! so i dont think spending £30 on hd cable is necessary as i am happy with the current qualityall my components are in a sleek new age black so it looks the bees knees.. in my ikea media stand, lol..the front speakers provide excellent kick and vocals, and the rear golfballs do an excellent job of filling in the background noises such as explosions and crowd cheering when im playing pro evo on my ps3! etc..as im not particularly a bass head, the budget eltax sub, does me fine, and im only using about 35% of its capacity..i think this is an excellent system for anyone with a budget in mind, but doesnt nessecarily want comprimise..at the moment im running a 5:1 set up, but i plan to add an extra rear centre, for the extra ambience, lol, but you'd be suprised how hard it is to find a single speaker.I also plan to upgrade my amplifier to one of the ES models in the near future in the hope that it will up-scale the non HD channels in my sky box.. and also provide better sound quality and video, and the extra HD ports will come in a treat as i will be able to plug in my HDMi laptop so i can run i-tunes though it with digital sound quality as HD audio is the absolute muts nutz.. i wanted an apple air-port, but as the connection isnt digital, i may try sony's own DMP digital media port for the i podmy original set up was quite dated, it was a 32" sony triniton, sony ta-ax2 slimline amp, standard sky box, matsui DVD player, and.... dell 2:1 speakers!!so you must understand how chuffed i am with my new set up.. lolany thoughts or constructive critique on what way to go in terms of upgrade set or additional components etc??p.s/ i understand my set is mostly sony but this is because amittiedly not being an audio/video expert i know no better and their products have never failed me, ever in terms of reliability and build quality etc..p.s sensible answers and critique only, thankyou, your feedback is appreciated..

Answer:
Your system sounds kick ass! Your TV is to small though. On a scale of 1-10 I would give you a 6. If you had a 42" or 50" I would of given you a 9

Question : problem with my laptop's sound?
i was trying to record my band and i using audacity, and i plugged in a basic double male audio jack, on inthe laptop's mic, the other in my friend's amp. we did this earlier, and it worked just fine. however, i think i may have plugged it in to my headphone jack, and now, i hear a buzzing, kinda whine sound. it doesnt happen all the time, only when im listening to music, or playing a game, or watching a video. the windows login is fine. i determined its the left speaker by using the audio manager. it comes through the speakers, and headphones. i already tried to install new drivers. the sound system is REALTEK HD AUDIO. i only got this laptop 2 weeks ago and i really need help :/

Question : Can I make these headphones PC compatible?
My dad has a pair of these almost identical headphones http://www.boonesky.com/ProductImages/edmo/H10-13.4.jpg but the jack is too big to plug into my computer. I know some headsets I bought have a little thing where your plug the jack into and you can plug it into like a guitar amp, but this jack is much larger. Is there a place i can get a converter to plug into my computer? it would be AWESOME to use when playing video games.
