Questions & Answers
Question : I need help with a like pro for kids should be able to have electronics in class.?
Why should kids be able to have electronics in class???
Answer:
To an extent, yes. If everyone is working silently, and as long as they can work efficiently with earphones in, it won't hurt to let them use it. Plus the teacher gains some popularity points. If it is being abused or if they are listening to them while the teacher is talking to block them out then don't let them use iPods. As for PDAs, and handheld organizers, those are good tools and should be allowed.Games, and phones should be a no.

Question : Why don't adults do something to discipline kids?
Okay, so first off, I'm 16 and I grew up with the 90s, 00s, and currently the 10s generations and I just wanna know why adults have let kids grow up to be the way they are today? I mean, I know not all adults and not all kids but a good majority. I've literally studied this topic try to make up my own theories, and from what I've come up with is that kids really seem to think they are grown up. I wanna know why grown ups complain about how kids are turning out the way they do. To be fair, it's not entirely their faults. I mean like girls who are 12, dressing up like they justed turned 21 and are bout to go stand on the side of a street corner. First off, if you don't want girls to dress like that, why the hell do people make it look like it's cool in the 1st place. I'm saying like if you want young girls to ACT like young girls, why can't you set a good example instead of just talking the talk, walk the walk. Also, why are people so afraid to whoop their child? That's the main reason children are so out of hand. Taking away their phone and iPod and no punishment, this is the age of electronics. Kids are going to have some sort of electronic device stashed away. I mean how come somewhere along the line, parents just stopped spanking their child. Are you crazy? That's the worst disision you can ever make. To make sure you child doesn't do anything stupid, they should fear you more than they fear the law that way they DON'T wanna be in trouble. For example, my 14 year old sister screams, shuts, and is the most spoiled rotten brat in the state of Texas I swear. Whenever anyone tries to talk to her, or tell her somthing, she instantly starts shouting and screaming because she knows nobody will do anything. And whenever she finally gets yelled at enough or someone barley pops her, she'll cry her eyes out and it pisses me off. But everyday, she runs over my parents like nothing, they even give us her chores because they just don't want to bother argueing with her. Now, unless you want your child to end up like what I just described, I suggest you consider that a warning and do something to make sure you child doesn't up up like that because once they do, you're pretty much fucked. (Note: I really don't care if you leave responses saying that blah blah blah I'm too you blah blah blah I don't know what I'm talking about blah blah blah all that bull. Just because I'm 16 doesn't mean I'm not mature, nor does it mean I'm trying to act grown. I know fully well what I'm talking about. I know how my genration works, all I want is for ADULTS to act like ADULT and DO WHAT THEY NEED TO DO to keep kids in line.)I didn't through in everything because then it would be to long.Did I say I grew up IN the 90s decade? I said I grew up with that GENERATION meaning when they were kids and teens, I was a baby and a kid, duh. Also, my sister is no typical 24 year old. She is the rudest thing that ever set foot this earth, and I'm not over exaggerating.
Answer:
Thanks! It's about time somebody stood up and said something. I'm 16 myself, and earlier today I was just talking about these kids. For example- back when I was in fourth grade, we would all turn red faced and get embarrassed if someone said a cuss word. I saw a group of fourth graders saying stuff that nearly offended ME! It's sad! I knew this one kid who was so spoiled that every time she fell over, she would lay down and bawl until someone picked her up. She was about 5 or 6- old enough to know better. As soon as her parents ran out to stand her up, she stopped crying and went about her business. There's also a fine line between abuse and spanking. I was abused. I do believe in spanking. I do see my mom doing some of the things she did to me to my niece, and it makes me sick. When she needs a spanking, she doesn't give her one, but she will freely beat her for ridiculous stuff. I usually try to stop her. There are tons of classes out there teaching about discipline- parents need to attend them.

Question : Do you think if kids play too much electronics[ computers, tv,psp, etc.] can their grades drop down?
i don't mean just for 2 hrs, but it's like for every min. [maybe even while they're doing their hw.give as many reasons as you can. plz
Answer:
If they cut into their studying time, then yes, it could. They should be in a quite inviornment while doing homework. It's okay to play or watch TV or 1-3 hours a day, but to much can turn into a habit and their grades could drop.

Question : Are new and high tech electronics the reason kids are neglecting to engage in outdoor activities?
When i was an adolescent - a new bicycle was the number one Christmas present for boys my age. And It wasn't only used for means of transportation, it was for fun, because we loved to race up and down the street. We loved being outside playing all types of games, mama had to threaten us with a butt whipping just to get us to come in and eat dinner. Nowadays it's the vice versa. Young boys are getting sissified. All they wanna do is stay in the house and play PS3 or play on the laptop. I bet very few kids got a new bike this Christmas.

Question : My friends 60 yr old mother steals all the time, uggs, electronics etc for her kids and grandkids and herself!?
I have no idea what to do, they will not talk about it but I know and have seen things such as hundreds of dollars worth of american girl items, hollister, keen, north face, pottery barn, etc. She is a professional, how do I go about this, I have known them for a long time and was always wondering how they could afford such items, but never had any proof, I mean even her grandkids know about it and thrive on knowing that their grandma will get them whatever they want, I mean I know they need serious help but how can I report this? Please help!!!
Answer:
Mind your business. She unfortunately will get caught and then the family will have heartache cause mom's in jail. What do you need proof for that they have things above their means. You are their friend because of who you are and because of who they are , not because of what they have. Just don't ever go to the store or shopping with them. They will need you friendship when the hammer of justice finally comes down on the mom.

Question : Which brand of batteries do you prefer for your electronics and kids toys and why?
I prefer Duracell or EnergizerBut the dollar store batteries work well too.Duracell works well for my remote control, walkman But for the kids toys I use Energizer or the dollar store batteries because they are cheaper, I need so many and since they don't last as long as the brand store batteries I save a few bucks
Answer:
I go with Duracell or Energizer Rechargable batteries for my digital camera, hand held video recorder, and most of my son's toys. Cheaper in the long run, and better for the environment. I buy the big pack of Costco batteries for flashlights and things I don't use that often.

What was the main brand name of electronics kits kids used to get. I can picture them, but can't remember the name for the life of me!-Frank
Answer:
Heathkit was probably the most popular, but there was a lot of Edmund Scientific stuff around, too. Allied Radio also sold electronics kits. Ah, a blast from the past!

Question : What do you do when your kids "really wants" something?
I'm horrified to hear in the electronics section how these kids say "I already have a DSLR camera that costs $800, but I really want the newer model that costs $2000. How can I convince my parents to get it for me?"This seems to be a disgusting mindset that somehow got into the youth today (and some of the adults too). I'm wondering, as a parent, what do you do when your kids ask you to buy them something that they don't need just because they want it?
Answer:
Absolutely not. My child would have been lucky to receive A camera. I would never pay £800 for any camera. Unless they where doing a camera course and needed it for there studies. But anything else after that would be there own responsibility. Especially if they just "wanted" it. If it was to break I would probably hit the roof.

Question : Are kids allowed to bring electronics to school nowadays?
In my school people are allowed to bring ipods, phones, and a lot more other stuff. You can only use those on the bus and they have to be off in school. People still leave them on and shove them down their pockets for teachers to easily see but the teachers don't do a thing unless someone actually has it out and using it during class.
Answer:
Indeed all schools are different. I see that you live in the UK, but even for other schools in the US, my school has a rather...odd policy. This year, my school had been noticing that teachers were not equally enforcing the previous school policy for cell phones, which was that, from 7:35 to 2:11, they were supposed to be off. In some classrooms the teachers had taken them when they were found, but in others like my second period study hall, the teachers let the students use them for showing photos and listening to music. After talking with both students and staff, our principal had come out with a policy that is easier to enforce. In between school periods people can text in the hallways, but they still have to come to class on time and the teachers will take away any phone that is found in the classroom. As for other electronics, I use my MP3 player on the bus and at lunch. Other people use Ipods, Iphones, and similar electronics around those times. People are also sometimes allowed to listen to them in PE, but it depends. We don't see portable gaming consoles at our school very often, but one boy had a Nintendo DS once when on the bus. But, none of these are allowed in the normal classroom. All schools have different policies, and mine has worked for my school.

Question : What do you think would happen if all the kids in the world got their electronics taken away for a week?
What do you think would happen if all the kids in the world got their electronics taken away for a week?
Answer:
Perhaps they would learn to socialize with others instead of being brain dead Droids.
