Question : Should I address this issue at work?
i work at jc penney a very diverse store i was looking through the new Christmas catalog and it shows the baby dolls. in big black letters they wrote ethnic on all the dark babies but nothing on the white babies. obviously you can tell the babies are much darker so why even label. or if your going to label, label all not somealso Webster divines ethnic as of or relating to large groups of people classed according to common racial, national, tribal, religious, linguistic, or cultural origin or background so arent we all ethnic?many of my coworkers were a little offended by this especially during this small racial tension during the presidential debate.so basically should i contact the company about this or just brush it off?

Answer:
I think that if it is bothering you this much, then you should definitely address the situation.I would recommend making an anonymous complaint to head office though, not as an employee, but as a customer. That way, you are free to speak your mind without the fear of your position at work being affected. Don't be afraid to stand your ground, it's your right!

Question : "Baby Think It Over" Realistic Baby Dolls for Teens?
when I was in high school, we did a project called "baby think it over". The project was for about 2 days and it was to lower the risk of teen pregnancies. we got to choose any realistic baby dolls of all ethnic backgrounds and a key was attached to our wrist. If we cut out the key, we would fail. Then we had to take the baby with us everywhere we went and we slept with it too. Everytime the baby cries, we would stick the key on the doll's back and leave it there until it was finished feeding. At the end of the project, there is a machine that totals how many times you abandoned it and how many times it's been fed. **Did you guys have to do this project for school or know someone who has?If yes, how did you do on it? Did you pass? The baby doll would cry at random hours, sometimes every hour. at one time it cried every 20 minutes.

Answer:
I had to do it in eighth grade and so did my brother. My brother did "okay" and I passed with no problem. Our dolls had two lights in their backs that told our teacher when the baby had been "abused" (hit or dropped) and when it had been "neglected," (left to cry for longer than 1 1/2 minutes). There was a key that was attached to our wrist with a hospital type band and was to NEVER be taken off or you would fail. This way no one else could take care of your baby for you. We had it for two days and were also given a diaper bag with two changes of clothes and diapers, etc. We even had preemies who required to be fed even more often than the full term babies. So it sucked if you got the preemie. They all weighed around 6 or 7 pounds and we had to take them home with us and to all of our classes. It was pretty cool I thought....but then again I am a girl and loved babies so I didnt mind it at all. I know they are still doing it here where I live b/c my friends 13 year old daughter just finished doing it a few weeks ago.

Question : Why do Black Guys Pull The Race Card When You Reject Their Sexual Advances?
I'm not into black men.Turns out most of us non-black people aren't, according to the pew research center. So why cry Racism? Maybe it's just natural instinct and biological in nature? Two year old babies react negatively when presented human faces on a computer that are black, and yet don't react negatively to other ethnic faces, even when those faces are not White. And no i am not talking about the pretty doll ugly doll study. I am talking about babies that don't understand racism.

Answer:
OMG! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!! The truth is so refreshing!I know what you mean! I have a 10 week old kitten, and he hisses at my black male friend and his black girl friend, yet we can have total strangers over at the house, who are not black, but even have dark skin, and she is a little love bug, but you bring a black person over, even with lighter skin, compared to many blacks and she has a hissy fit and will even go for their face and back into a corner. My girlfriend has a dog who did the same thing when it came to black people.I DO BELIVE, WE AS NON-BLACK PEOPLE KNOW THEY ARE GENETICALLY TOXIC!

Question : Story I heard on talk radio years ago?
This is a long shot but . . .there was this story on a radio talk show (I'm sorry I don't know what station or show). I enjoyed the story and wanted to either re-listen to it or read a transcript or something. Here's what I can remember about it:It's a story about a sales person who worked in an upscale realistic doll storeI *think* it was in manhattan and I *think* they were baby dollsMost of the patrons where white moms, who wanted to get their daughters white dollsThe store sold out of white dolls, and the moms where appalledThe asian dolls sold out next, then the hispanic dolls, and then there was a sea of black dollsThey had a factory reject that had orange hair and would flop like a dolphin (I don't really remember what that means but I remember her saying that) and one woman actually bought the reject because it was the only white one leftThe reporter who told the story was a white woman and the moms expected her to identify with them not want to but 'ethnic' baby dollsThe sales person offered one woman a hispanic and she said "what would the neighbors think"Really random information, I know, but if you have any idea who wrote it or what show it was on, I'd appreciate it.

Answer:
sorry never heard of it.tried to google sales of ethnic dolls, nothing.

Question : Where can I get ethnic Korean baby dolls for my adopted daughter.?
Even though we live in the heart of New York City, a mile and a half from Korea-town, I still can't find any dolls for my daughter that are ethnically Korean, other than expensive display knick-knacks. Even generic "Asian" dolls are thin on the ground. Any suggestions?

Answer:
There are several websites that sell multicultural products and toys, especially geared for adopted kids. You could try http://www.storesonline.com/site/480020/page/536592Multicultural Kids:http://www.multiculturalkids.com/shop/customer/home.phpAsia For Kids - DOES have dolls from Korea!: http://www.afk.com/

Question : what kind of doll should I get my daughter I would like amixed doll she is black and asian like me?
she does have a like brown baby doll but does anyone have a idea where I could get a mixed looking doll I was just thinking about getting a ethnic cabbage patch doll even thought my daughter is light with slanted eyes and fine hair i want her to have a variety of dolls not just black or whiteshes only 2

Answer:
The first link is to the "just like you" order page for dolls made by American Girl...the second link is to the opening page for the American Girl website. I think that it is probably as close as you can get to finding a doll that is most like you and your daughters. I am sure they are not the only makers of one of a kind dolls, but it is the only one that I know of. Best of luck!!!

Question : I'm seriously crying about this - what should I do? Please socially experienced people help?
I'm infatuated with this French boy on my course at uni. How do i act 'cool' around him. I'm Sri Lanken (little island next to India) and get the feeling he wants an ethnic girlfriend. How should i act around him???? Pleas help me :? I'm literally crying as I write this. I want a boyfriend. What should i wear? I have long legs, big(ish tits. medium brown skin tone. long black curly hair that I can straighten. Black skinny jeans really suit me. I like baby doll/ ruffle tops :) xxx@ C R - I certainly didn't convince myself. Trust me, if you were an ethnic girl you would be experienced with the matter. You're just going to have to trust me when I say that he's interested in 'ethnics'. I'm very aware that France is a multicultural society and I don;t think his desire or ethnics had anything to do with bring French - I don;t know why you would think so! But thanks for the advice :) xxx@ C R - that's cool :)... so what can I do to be more confident around this guy??

Answer:
Why you get a feeling that he wants an ethnic girlfriend? Did he say something in that respect or did you just convince yourself? France is a multicultural country and most educated people with international experience don't judge anyone by their race. If you want to get closer to him talk to him more in class in a casual way at first, meet some of his friends.. Don't change your style or appearance, just be yourself. If you guys get to know each other more, he might like you.. Or he might not. There is no way to force a person if he just isn't interested. If you're smart, social and outgoing girl, you'll find a boyfriend soon enough at uni. That shouldn't be a problem. The reason I talked about it is because people from some societies are more susceptible to be against a relationship with people of darker skin. For example, many Russians are like that. On the whole, I recently graduated from an international university myself, and ethnics was never a problem when it came to dating.Well, it's just a guy with feelings and emotions just like anyone else, not some superior being. No reason to feel less confident near him than you are around other people. I know it's harder if you're seriously infatuated with him, but remember that you're attractive and intelligent person too, so be assertive. Get to know him socially, perhaps start by talking about things you have in common such as university work leading on to other subjects. Go to parties that he will also be attending. It's often easier to meet people better in a more relaxed atmosphere. But at same time don't be too clingy, go out and talk with other guys too. Many men prefer girls that are popular and hard to get rather than the ones who throw themselves at them as readily available. But a lot depends on his personality too. Good luck.

Question : what do you think of this halloween costume: angelina jolie lol?
im 19, and this costume is basically to go to college halloween parties, and to compete in a small halloween costume competition with a prize! im going to be angelina jolie with accessories such as ethnic plastic baby dolls and a purse that i got that says "mrs. pitt". im going to wear pleather pants and boots and a tight white sleeveless shirt w/ my best push up bra (think tomb raider). im also going to draw tattoos on myself like one of my arm that says "billy bob" and then cross it out and write "brad pitt". ill also wear makeup and use a lip plumper! lol i think its sort of funny and original. if you have any other suggestions for the look, or better ideas tell me!hahaha i think im a little to shy to pull off that tara ried outfit! but its pretty hilarious
