Question : What is the official diction for the anatomically correct dolls in court?
What is the official diction for the dolls used in courthouses for sexually abused children to point out where they've been touched? Is it a little rag doll? Is it a standard issue kind of thing? Where all the courts have the same kind of doll.

Answer:
I think they just use a doll of no specific manufacturer.

Question : How many Cabbage Patch dolls do they make with the same birthday each year?
I want to get my neice a cabbage patch doll with her birthday as it's birthday. This is her first Christmas and I want to do something special. I've seen one that had her birthday, but it was plain and ugly (and these are ugly dolls in general, so it was pretty ugly). What are the chances I'll find another with the same birthday?

Question : Where can I buy MODERN dolls house people?
My 11 year old sister is getting a collectors dolls house for her birthday and she doesn't know. She has seen them before and commented that for the people 'She wanted nice ones, not wooden ones, with modern clothes, not looking so old fashioned.' I have looked on google and all of the things I have found have really ugly people in old, frilly dresses. I have looked on ebay - same thing. Anybody have any suggestions where I can get modern 'grown up peoples' dolls house people? Thanks for the help - I really appreciate it. I will probably need a mum, a dad, 2 children and a dog if that helps in anyway, but this is flexible. Oh, and I live in the UK, but may be willing to get them from elsewhere, depending on the postage and how nice they are!

Answer:
You could always have a craft project tohgether and help her make her own from polymer clay..

Question : What makes some porcelain dolls expensive?
There are porcelain dolls being sold at a toy and gift shops here in my place, but well, they're affordable..But don't porcelain dolls cost much? What makes those other dolls expensive? I want to start collecting soon, but I plan to get one from that gift shop because I already fell in love with 3 dolls from it :) I like my dolls (I own baby dolls) to be beside me or should I place them in one cabinet or something? But the fun wouldn't be there if I do that. (How do I know the right porcelain ones? I mean, what place?

Answer:
There are 'strict rules' if you want to 'collect' as an investment. If you want to collect porcelain dolls because you love dolls, then you can put them where you want them, and can even take them out of their boxes for display. I find the current 'rules' on 'collecting' strictly for investment a bit 'weird' ... I have several collections, of turtles (including the 'turtles' from the streets that they put there to wake people when they cross the lines), hedgehogs, and Eeyores (the donkey in Winnie the Pooh) ... and NONE of them will be of any 'value' after I die, because I LOVE THEM and have them out where I can touch and hold them when I want to. If my kids or grandkids want them to 'remember me by' that's fine ... I have a 'ceramic candy dish' that is a large turtle that my late mother-in-law gave me on her 80th birthday ... that is my 'pride and joy' and all I want when I die is for someone who really wants it to have it. I'm 'weird' about my 'collections' I suppose ... but what is the 'fun' of having a collection you can't 'touch' anyway? So ... they'll be YOUR dolls, and you may do what you want to with them ... but you can't say they are an 'investment' in anything but YOUR HAPPINESS ... and THAT IS WHAT COUNTS MOST to me, and probably to you. So, collect away ... and be happy and get the dolls you LOVE and not the 'good investments' ... you'll be happier, and that is more valuable than the 'resale price' of your dolls.

Question : Do the Pussycat Dolls get people from the audience up onto the stage in their concerts?
I am going to see the Pussycat Dolls in concert in February, and I've heard that sometimes they get people from the audience to come up onto the stage? Does anybody know anything about this? Has anyone been on stage with them?Thank you!

Answer:
I went to their concert a couple of years ago..They have a section in their concert which is called the Stomp. Thing sing a song called Show us What You Got. They get two people from the audience and make them have like a little dance battle, where the winner gets a prize. There is videos on youtube of them doing that. Here is One.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EBPN2IVo50&feature=relatedAlthough This one doesn't show the audience member, They do it after their routine.Yet I am not sure if they are going to do it for their World Domination Tour. They might do something different. But they like getting their audience involved.

Question : What is the movie with the doll house and the dolls come alive?
i saw a movie when i was little and the dolls inside of a doll house came alive. Does anybody know what movie it is?

Answer:
This could also be the made for tv movie The Dollhouse Murders http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111144/In this movie a little girl has a dollhouse that is a miniature version of the house she lives in and at night the dolls come to life and re-enact the murder of her grandparents or aunt and uncle, which happened in the house.

Question : What is the difference between american girl dolls and my generation dolls?
I decided that last Christmas to get my daughter a My Generation doll vs. the American Girl doll. Just to see how she would take care of it before getting the $90 doll. The question I have is how is the hair on these two dolls different. I find that the My Generation dolls hair is very dry, frizzy and thin where you can see the scalp on any hair style (from day one). My daughter is very frustrated by this and was wondering if the quality of the hair on an American girl doll is much better. Otherwise she loves playing with her doll. So I was wondering if anyone out there has experience both dolls and what there opinion is? Thanks!

Answer:
Hi, my daughters have 2 of each type, and we've had lots of AG dolls come to visit. Our OGG hair is a total mess. AG hair is better, but don't think it's perfect. Kit and Nicki have very easy to manage hair because it's short. A couple of the look like me dolls hair is shorter as well. But the other long haired dolls hair will get kind of yucky if you don't take care of it. Kristen and Molly in particular have very difficult hair. It comes braided and most little girls will have those braids out by the second day and you will NEVER get them back as nice as they were the day they came home. Even the straight and long haired dolls hair suffers with play. It gets sort of frizzy at the ends. You can comb through it but it's not as smooth as day 1. And you can see some scalp/wig base on the real AG dolls as well if you do certain hairstyles. Worst case scenario you can send an AG doll with trashed hair to the doll hospital and have it re-wigged. Hair aside, the AG dolls do have a nicer overall feel to them. They weigh a bit more and feel nicer in the arms. They sit better (less spread-eagle). The clothes for the OGG girls will fit, but pants from the OGG dolls will be a little tight on an AG doll and shoes may be a bit hard to pull on (AG dolls' feet are wider).ps new AG doll (Julie) coming out Aug. 20th!

Question : How does the mechanism work on dolls with eyes that close?
I'm just curious as to how those traditional dolls - the ones where the eyelids close when the doll is laid horizontally, and open when it is placed upright - work! I've tried to think it through, but can't quite work it out.

Answer:
it uses weights, if you angle something with those weights and it's balanced well. Then the weights as we know follow gravity and will go down and thus the eyes open and close depending on the angle of the doll's eyes.

Question : What is the difference between Myscene dolls and Bratz dolls?
They look exactly the same. And I don't quite get the hostility towards Bratz dolls. I heard one woman say that "any mother who lets her kids play with Bratz dolls should have her kids taken away". A little extreme I think.I remember the fuss over Barbie too. People complained and as a result, Barbie's measurements were changed. And Barbie is so physically and morally perfect, and therefore completely unrealistic (how many of us are ever going to get to be princesses). So I can't help but think that there are always going to be people to complain about something.

Answer:
Myscene dolls were created by the Barbie manufacturer in response to the Bratz dolls. The hostility towards the Bratz dolls has to do with their skimpy clothes and the emphasis on the bling. And I do understand why some moms are very uncomfortable with the message this may be sending to their daughters. But I let my girls have them and Barbies. Maybe because I remember people fussing about Barbie when I was a kid. I understood that it was just a doll and my girls also understand. I explain that their clothes are fine for make believe, but that you wouldn't want to dress like that in real life. I think that one woman you mentioned is absolutely insane.
