Answer:

Question : How can I recycle paper to make new paper at home?
I have loads of scrap, extra, and used paper stored in my room and I want to make useable new paper at home to recycle it.Any instructions/ideas for making this paper?I mean an easy method that can be done at home without any acids and chemicals and difficult processes like that. It doesn't have to turn out like "real" perfect paper, just something simple.

Answer:
If you just want cute paper that you can write and wrap with.... Just put all the same color in a blender and blend it. Add some water of course. After blended dump onto a screen and just flatten it with something heavy. We always made it outside! Use a brick or something. And make sure that there isn't anything like a table or something under it so the air will get to the back to dry. After it has dried then pull it off! There you go!

Question : Why is brown paper used to line the pan for a fruit cake?
I have a fruit cake recipe that requires me to use brown paper to line the pan. Can I use wax paper in stead of the brown paper? Also what is the purpose of the brown paper?do I need to oil and flour the wax paper?

Answer:
Couple of reasons-1. Retains moisture so the sides don't overcook.2. Makes removal from the pan easy. Fruitcake is a real B#$@h to get out of the pan in one piece.

Question : What should I use to attach transparent paper to other types of paper?
I recently was working with transparent paper, and I was trying to attach it to a type of paper similar to construction paper. I used Yes Paste, but the transparent paper did not stick. Does anyone know what kind of adhesive would work best to attach transparent paper to other paper? Also, if not adhesive, does anyone know any other effective method I could use to attach the transparent paper? Thanks!

Answer:
glue

Question : What paper is best to use for a waterproof cup?
I need to make a cup out of paper and it needs to be waterproof. I can use any material (card, wax paper etc) as long as that material contains paper. When delivering the cup to my teacher, it needs to be flat and the teacher should easily be able to fold it into a cup and pour water into it there and then... Any ideas?

Answer:
Tyvek or wax paper

Question : How does layout paper differ from normal paper?
I'm starting my first course ever on interior design and have been asked to bring along A2/A3 layout paper. How is layout paper different from other types of paper?

Answer:
There are many many types of paper. Generally, layout paper is very white, it handles a variety of mediums, especially drawing pens of various kinds, and allows pencil erasing without chewing into the surface. If the instructor specified layout paper don't do not attempt to use anything else as a substitute. Often the "Layout" is clearly labeled on tablets. It is easy to find in art supply stores frequented by college students but may not be readily available in just any craft art store.

Question : What kind of stock paper and paper weight is ideal for printing game cards?
What kind of stock paper and paper weight is ideal for printing game cards? And what is the heaviest stock paper weight that I can buy that would be able to go through your average home printer?

Answer:
I recently had a printing project that had to be durable. Here is what worked best for me.After printing the project on standard card stock, I sprayed it with several coats of acrylic. I then decoupaged the cut out pieces on my project. If I were making cards that I wanted to last, I would spray both sides, making sure to allow for enough dry time between coats. If these "cards" are to be cut out, I would do a couple of coats before cutting, then a couple after cutting them to size, to seal the edges.

Question : What kind of paper I should use for good coloring using colored pencil?
What kind of paper for detail, I tried using sketch paper but the color won't bend well with the paper.. =(Does HVS paper is good?

Answer:
Hi HVS paper is for for photo copying and printing. If you want a really good paper for a fine art project, then I suggest you go with the best art paper you can afford.Stonehenge is one very fine quality paper used a lot for colored pencil work. You can use any good quality hot press watercolor paper, which gives you a nice thicker surface, yet very smooth which allows blending on the paper easier. Why don't you visit the Colored Pencil Society Site, and see what kind of information you can gather there. There are lots of ideas, and artwork to look at, and many times when you see another artist's color pencil work, they will list what kind of paper/surface they used. (go to the details section by each image)http://www.cpsa.org/Good luck, and have fun. It should be motivational to see all that wonderful work on their site!Robin SwabyDirector: SNCA School of Visual ArtsArt Marketing Experthttp://marketing-your-art.com

Question : Can i substitue wax paper for parchment paper in a recipe?
I am making blondies and the recipe says to use parchment paper on the bottom of the pan. I don't have parchment paper handy so can i substitue wax paper instead?

Answer:
No, parchment paper is designed to be baked on. Waxed paper will melt & hurt your cookie sheet & ruin your cookies.

Question : What kind of shelf paper can I use on a surface where contact paper wont stay down?
I'm renting the house so I cant replace any wood, but the surface under my sink had some contact paper on it and when I removed it there is a sticky film. When I try to put contact paper back down it wont stick. I've noticed alot of the contact paper isnt very sticky anymore. Any ideas what I could use for a shelf covering?

Answer:
You mentioned under the sink. I had some very nice linoleum left over from my bathroom floor and cut it to fit under my bathroom and kithen sinks. It looks nice, very easy to clean and lasts for a very long time, and of course very sturdy. Check any flooring store to see if they have any small pieces left over from jobs. For the cupboard shelves, I recommend the rubberized shelf coverings that come in a roll and in different colors. Keeps the dishes from sliding, and looks nice, and you don't have to worry about any sticky surface that drives you nuts trying to put it in place.
