Questions & Answers
Question : How to remove the tape residual from the vechicle?
Due to the water leakage, I used the plastic tape to temporaily seal the leakage, when I removed the tape, the tape wasnt able to be pull out. There are disgusting plastic marks left on the car. How would I remove those marks? Please advice.
Answer:
get a razor blade, a paper towel, and glass cleaner, add these to a little bit of elbow grease and it'll come right off

Question : What kind of tape will stick to wax paper?
I've made some energy bars and have them wrapped up in wax paper. I've tried using scotch tape in the past to seal the paper together with poor results. Masking tape? Packaging tape? Something else? You guys rock! Thanks for all the ideas. I've packaged them because I will be bringing them on a backpack trip and the packaging will help keep them from falling apart. The recipe:* Quick rolled oats (toast em if you want, I didn't)* almond butter* 100% cocoa powder* Rice syrup (you could use any liquid sweetener)This is a no-bake recipe, just mix, press and cut into bars or balls.I didn't measure anything, just kept adding and mixing until it was the consistency I wanted. I did use quite a bit of cocoa powder. I kept adding more rice syrup until it was the sweetness I wanted...too sweet can be a bad thing, imo. I added the oats to the bowl (use a BIG bowl, it gets messy!), then some cocoa, then some rice syrup, then some more cocoa, then lots of almond butter. Use lots of almond/peanut butter otherwise things won't stick. I was mixing all the time, first with a spoon then eventually my hands. I meant to add a little cinnamon but forgot. Very tasty and nutritious!
Answer:
Good for you, making your own energy bars! Bet they are delicious, too. To answer your "sticky" question, it would probably be good to completely run the tape around so it is sticking to itself rather than trying to stick it to the waxed paper. You've already discovered that it doesn't accept tapes very well, so try wrapping the tape all the way around.OR use cling wrap (like saran-wrap) to package your energy bars instead of waxed paper. You could also keep them in an air-tight metal box with only a layer of waxed paper in between the bars to keep them fresh.OR---take them to work and treat your friends and then you won't have to worry about storing them because they'll all be gone! How about sharing your recipe?Hope this helps.

Question : How can you safely remove tape off a car’s outside paint?
How can you safely remove tape off a car’s outside paint? For example from the hood let’s say. Not masking tape, but strong scotch tape for boxes. It got on the car’s paint job for over 2 weeks. It was holding a plastic bag over the window because someone broke it. When the window was fixed and they started to take the tape off the paint was coming with it. Any advice would be great.
Answer:
Ouch, me and my dad want through that, I reccomend using a blow drier or something that would heat up the stuff that sticks to the car. But what I did was ripp the tape off. There wasnt any scratches al I did was wash the tape off with a good solvent to break down the stickey materal.

Question : What is an effective way to tape trim when painting?
The last time I painted was a few years ago, and we taped around the baseboards and stuff with regular masking tape and it worked just fine, we hardly had to touch up at all. Then we painted again this weekend, and the tape didn't work at all - we had to spend hours touching up. We used 3M painting tape.Is there a better way to do it? Is there some entirely different method? Is there a type of tape that works better than others?
Answer:
Using the blue masking tape helps. Run a pen knife or something pointy with which you apply localized pressure along the edge (where trim meets wall). The blue tape has a little wax that melts from the heat generated and seals the edge so you don't have paint leaks. Also, it's wise to remove the paint in 48 hrs of finishing the job. I've had bad experience where the old tape when pulled took paint away along with it.

Question : How do I put tape in the tape dispenser in my organizer desk lamp?
I got an Equip Your Space Organizer Desk Lamp from Bed Bath & Beyond for christmas, but I can't figure out how to put tape in the tape dispenser.I got an Equip Your Space Organizer Desk Lamp from Bed Bath & Beyond for christmas, but I can't figure out how to put tape in the tape dispenser. It didn't come with instructions.
Answer:
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything on the web about that specifically-named item, but, other than just going to BB&B and asking them, I would speculate that it might be a sliding panel, such that the entire base or side slides out to reveal an openning for the tape.

Question : How do I tape a wooden hockey blade for ice hockey?
I have a two-piece composite stick with a wooden blade. How do I tape the blade? How necessary is taping the blade? How frequently do I need to tape the blade? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Answer:
Start with a strip of tape along the bottom of the blade about 1.5 inches from each end. Fold the edges over onto the front and back of the blade. Press this tape down with a puck on the 3 sides and the 2 corners.Next start taping the stick from heel to toe. Put about 1/2" of tape on the top of the blade on one side. Do a complete wrap back over the 1/2" piece and then start down the blade towards the toe. Have the wraps start and end about 1/4" over-laping the piece on the bottom of the blade. Overlap the tape about 1/4" on each wrap. When you get to the end, make sure you tear the tape at the top and have a 1/2" piece on one side just like how you started. The key to a good tape job is how tight you apply the tape. Put your top two fingers in the roll and put your thumb on the non sticky side to keep the roll tight. Roll off enough to do one side and put it on. Then flip the stick and do the same. You don't want to have the roll go around and around the stick. Let out some tape, keep it tight, put it on the blade, turn the stick over and repeat until you are finished.Next take a puck and flatten the tape from toe to heel (with the grain). Flatten all 4 sides and the 4 corners. The last step is to wax the tape, again going from toe to heel. You do not need a lot of wax, just enough to lightly coat the tape. You can buy stick wax (Dr. Zoggs is the best) or a cheap candle works just fine.A good tape job done properly like this will last 5 - 10 ice times. There is no need to re-tape for every ice time unless it is superstition.

Question : How can I get tape off my car without hurting the paint?
Its clear packing-like tape that has been holding the window up until I can get it fixed. The tape is cracking and seems to have molded itself right onto the car. I need to get it off with out harming the paint one tiny bit. The tape goes all the way around the window area.Just an update, I have heard of Goo Gone, but I also heard it might harm the paint. Is there a special technique to use when using this product?
Answer:
Use a hair dryer to heat the glue on the tape and you should be able to peel it off.

Question : Can painters blue tape block Epoxy floor coating from getting through?
I am planning on painting my garage floor with a two-step epoxy garage paint/coating, thats the one with the decorative chips. However, as if I was using regular paint, I want to tape off and block areas that I do not want painted. Will regular painters blue tape repel the Epoxy paint/coating just like it would regular paint.? I know that the Epoxy paint/coating is thicker and stronger than regular paint and wondering if it will actually leak through the painters tape. Thanks for the advice!
Answer:
It will not leak through the tape, however..epoxy is a very hard product when cured..You may have trouble getting the tape off if you allow the epoxy to dry on it..just make sure as you paint an area with the tape on it..to remove that section of tape right after you paint it and do not allow it to dry....

Question : How to get duct tape off fabric and can you wash it?
So i have this featherbed that i use at school... after getting frustrated that the thing wouldnt stay on the bed... i duct taped it in place. now i have the dilemma that im not sure if i can wash the thing without the duct tape getting gooey and sticking to everything, and i have no idea how to get the stuff off - theres no way to take it off by hand or scrape it off.. and the tape covers a large portion of the featherbed. im afraid if i was it and put it in the dryer that im going to end up with one large sticky mess. any suggestions?
