Question : Did you ever find those noisemakers you "lost" when you were a kid ?
Did you ever find those noisemakers you "lost" when you were a kid ?

Answer:
Yes I have. Those brought back great memories!

Question : What is something funny or clever to write on thundersticks (inflatable clapping noisemakers) at a wedding?
I am getting married and we can't throw anything when we leave the church. So, we are getting custom thundersticks, which are those inflatable balloon noisemakers you usually see at sporting events. We are looking for something clever to write on them.

Answer:
Oh my. I'm curious about the logistics of having thundersticks. Are you going to hand them out before the ceremony? If so, how are you going to keep kids from banging 'em while your saying your "I do's"? If you hand them out after the ceremony, will they be inflated already? Or will guests have to hastily blow them up? If they are pre-inflated, where will you store them? How about:"Joe and Sarah Get Ready To Rumble"

Question : What do you think of throwing feathers during the wedding exit?
Also what about rose petals?Or what would be alternatives to throwing things, other than butterflies or sparklers or noisemakers.

Answer:
You are obviously looking for something unique. You need to keep in mind that after you leave, someone is going to have to clean up that mess. Most venues limit what and even if you can toss anything for two reasons..clean up and liability (people slipping) You could throw animal crackers but who wants to be pelted with those? If you can think of something that your venue will agree to, you can survive it being hurled at you and won't injure someone, go for it. Just think first.

Question : What is a good way to teach 3rd graders rhythm?
I am starting to teach (4) 3rd & 4th grade girls to play rhythms on various percussion instruments. We are incorporating written notation on the dry erase board to teach them to read the music as well. Right now, we are using one high and one low note. The instruments we're using are buckets, xylophones, glockenspiels, bongos, various homemade noisemakers. Is there a specific method I could use to be more successful?

Answer:
You might try marching counting exercises.Have the students walk (march) around the room and clap while they count steps out loud. This is good for quarter notes. 1- left, 2-right, 3-left, 4-right.Walk heel toe for eighth notesHeel-1, toe-andheel-2, toe-and.It makes it like a game with lots of coordinated movement. Then transfer ther counting to sitting/standing , and banging on the instruments.

Question : Cheer/Dance competition spirit items... (ribbons, noisemakers, etc...)?
I coach a dance team and we are going to competition in New York this month. Our parents are having a spirit meeting in two weeks to make noisemakers and posters and I was wondering if anyone had any creative ideas for homemade spirit items to give our girls that extra boost when they look over and see our parent section. 10 points to the item voted best idea by the parents. Thank you!!

Answer:
we like to put signs on the outside of our doors in the hotels that have ribbons and names and the studio on them.... good luck(:

Question : How do I configure a 555 timer for a short delay?
I need to know how to soldier it, such as which pins to soldier together, which to soldier to the capacitor, and which to soldier to the resistor. I can't read schematics, and pictures would be helpful. I just need a 4 second delay for a tripwire noisemaker. This is my first project, so excuse me if I call the items by the wrong names. Also, is there a specific type of capacitor that I should use? If there is an easier way to add a delay, let me know. Thanks for the information. I'm not sure if I made this clear, but I want the alarm to go off a few seconds after the pin is pulled. I believe this to be a monostable mode. Also, i think this is called a "transistor switch"?

Answer:
There are so many tutorials on 555 timers that you should read. You should also familiarize yourself with schematics as you will not be able to do jack in the future. For the second reference you can pick a R1 and R2 and C so the frequency is 1/4 hz which is one cycle every 4 seconds. You can use any capacitor. If timing is critical usually precision resistors and capacitors are used. I wouldn't worry about this. You can get a 1/4 hz pulse by using a 10uf capacitor with R1 and R2 being equal to 192 kohms. You can play with the formula to find values that you may already have available.

Question : Looking for remote-controlled noisemakers for doctor's office?
This may sound strange, but I'm looking for some noisemakers that we can perhaps wall mount behind the doctor, that he can turm on by remote control. It's to be used in a veterinary ophthalmologist's office, and the dogs sometimes need a bit of distraction to keep their eyes open and to look in the right direction so we can see their eyes. Any idea of what we could use? We're looking for things that maybe have a bright light that turns on to get their attention, and definitely something that will make a sound to get their attention.

Answer:
You can try remote control Calling Bell as it will meet your requirement.*
