Question : Can you help me identify some toys from the 70's and 80's please?
1. This was a collection of small humanoid figures in clear plastic with different coloured shiny insides. They were articulated but you could change their arms for weapons.2. What looked like a big rifle except the red end was a directional microphone.3. An orange/yellow wall down which a ball bearing travelled. You had to build a blue tower before a timer ran out and the ball bearing knocked over the tower.4. Fighting robots in a boxing ring - NOT "Sock 'em, Rock 'em" or "Raving Bonkers".5. An airplane that sat on top of a blue base. You filled it with parachutes. As the base rotated beneath it, you lined up the sights and dropped the parachutes into the dips in the rotating base. You could move the plane in and out to line up with drop points.6. A blue tray with white 'rockers'. You filled the blue tray with marbles, blue, red and yellow. Question : How to turn an action into a successful scale model?
My 7 year old boy was rambling off about what would happen if he jumped off the 10ft second story landing with a parachute. I told him a parachute wouldn't deploy in time but maybe we could test small scale. (both him and I know that jumping off the landing is just a thought experiment and nothing we'd actually do.). But if I wanted to make an action figure represent scale to my 52 pound 48 inch son, what would the action figure have to weigh? How would I scale the 10 ft height to the six inch toy? Thanks!

You sound like a VERY interesting parent :)I guess one way to scale it would be to make sure the toy and the boy have the same BMI? Given the numbers, 2.2 pounds or 1 kilo would be a good weight for the model.Good luck!

Question : Where to buy little army men, little airplanes, and little toy ships?
So I have to make a diorama depicting part of world war II. And I figure I need some of those little green army men like from toy story, those little parachute men, and some little toy ships and planes. But I don't really need a lot of them, so I want to try avoiding buying in bulk as much as possible. I don't want to spend that much money. Anyone know where I can buy these things (for relatively cheap)??? Please, any help is appreciated.

Question : Relative velocity/motion. Having trouble picturing this problem. How do I view this physics problem?
A shopper in a mall is on an escalator that is moving downward at an angle of 41.8 degrees below the horizontal at a constant speed of 0.75 m/s. At the same time a little boy drops a toy parachute from a floor above the escalator and it descends at a steady vertical speed of 0.50 m/s. Determine the speed of the parachute toy as observed from the moving escalator.I'm having a hard time figuring out how to start this problem.I have found the velocities in the x and y direction of the person on the escalator by using: initial velocity * cos theta and initial velocity *sin theta. However I'm having a hard time figuring out how to use the parachute speed information. I would appreciate any help as to how I should start this problem. Thanks!
