Question : Should I start a company that sells finger puppets to bulimics? If so what characters should I make?
I feel that it would be more entertaining for them instead of the same ole song and dance. I was thinking at least 7 different puppets, one for each day of the week. But then I thought to myself, why not make 21 puppets? (1 for each meal of the week). Each one would come with a clear plastic cover to protect the material. Am I missing anything else here? Do you know anyone who would buy one?
Answer:
This is a brilliant idea. I am a multi millionaire and was wondering if we could make some sort of a business deal. I would like to invest some money into this venture and maybe become a partner.

Question : Where can I learn how to make Finger/Hand Puppets?
I don't know the difference between Finger or Hand puppets, but I wanna know how to make puppets where you use your fingers for the arms and uh... Where you don't control the head or something. Also I was wondering what materials I need in order to start it off.
Answer:
You mean glove puppets (also known as hand puppets, although personally the term 'hand puppet' seems silly to me, since it can refer to any type of puppet - they all need your hands to operate them!). A glove puppet is where you can operate the arms and head by using your fingers. An explanation of glove puppets:http://www.puppetsinmelbourne.com.au/faq.php/2007/10/12/what_are_glove_puppetsAn explanation of hand puppets:http://www.puppetsinmelbourne.com.au/faq.php/2007/10/03/what_are_hand_puppetsAn explanation of finger puppets:http://www.puppetsinmelbourne.com.au/faq.php/2007/10/08/what_are_finger_puppetsFree patterns for glove puppets:http://www.puppetsinmelbourne.com.au/faq.php/2007/11/26/free_glove_hand_puppet_patternsAs for materials, felt is probably the easiest material to start with, although if you know how to knit or crochet, I'm sure there are heaps of patterns to be found on the net. You can also sew some glove puppets using fabric. If you take two pieces of felt, cut them out using this free pattern (the file to download that is, ignore the instructions that are also there):http://www.puppetsinmelbourne.com.au/faq.php/2007/11/20/how_to_make_a_glove_puppetGlue the pieces together around the edges, and then decorate with whatever you like: beads, ribbon, sequins, etc. I've done this before with beginners in a puppet making class, and it can be done in less than an hour.

Question : History and Information about Finger Puppets?
I am doing a project on finger puppets and can't find a web site that tells me anything about them. Can you tell me the history of finger puppets or a website?
Answer:
No one knows when the first finger puppet was made, by who, or why. My advice is to visit sagecraft.com (the Puppetry Homepage) and have a look at the info provided there. It's one of the best resources for puppetry, and if you can't find anything about finger puppets, it's likely no one has it. If you want to do a project on puppetry, and need some history, you might want to try a different type of puppet that is well-documented, like the shadow puppet or the marionette.

Question : Would making these finger puppets for sick kids be a dumb idea?
Today at work I was looking at these cute little felt finger puppets we sell, and got an idea.I was thinking maybe I could get a couple friends together and we could make some of these finger puppets, and maybe give them out to kids at the children's hospital with life-threatening illnesses.Does this sound like a dumb idea? I mean, if I sent them a box of finger puppets would they just be like "what the hell are these?" and think it was a really dumb idea?
Answer:
It depends on how old the kids are but it sounds like a good idea

Question : What would make some cute finger puppets?
What would make some cute finger puppets?
Answer:
I would make finger puppets out of felt. You can use contrasting pieces of felt to make the eyes, nose, mouth etc and things like yarn to make hair. Just cut a rectangle of felt the length of your finger and make it long enough to wrap around your finger, then stitch the sides and top closed with w needle and thread. You can also make them out of paper. Here are some free printable designs:http://www.freekidcrafts.com/finger-puppets.htmlAnd here is a site that shows how to make finger puppets:http://www.puppetsinmelbourne.com.au/faq.php/2007/10/19/how_to_make_a_finger_puppetHTH!
