Questions & Answers
Question : How does bubbles come about in boiling water?
How does bubbles come about in boiling water? What causes the bubbles? What are the bubbles made of?
Answer:
yet another opinion. The bubbles are indeed water vapor created by water changing from the liquid to the vapor phase. And yes it is called steam as well. Steam is water vapor. It can be dry or wet (contain water droplets or not)The bubbles form at the bottom of the pan where the heat source is. And yes they form at places that have irregulatities. And yes there is some nucleation happening athough the reason you see bubbles get bigger as they rise to the surface is the surrounding water pressure. at the bottom of a 10 in deep pan you see tiny bubbles. At the top, they are bigger. 10 in of water less pressure so volume expands.Update....sorry Andy G, but you're wrong. the bubbles coming out of water as it boils are not composed of 30% oxygen and 70% nitrogen. I don't know where you came up with that but that is absurd. If that were true, and it isn't, what happened to the hydrogen? water is H2O. when you boil a whole pot of water do you see a layer of liquid hydrogen left in the pan? and why when you condense the gas do you get water again. As in distilled water. Geez.

Question : How to get extreme bubbles in bubble bath?
I'm planning on taking a bubble bath tonight, it's rainy and gloomy here today so it seems like the perfect way to spend the evening. I'm looking for a new bubble bath product that creates tons and tons of bubbles that also smells great and leaves your skin feeling soft. Or if you know of any bath milks or oils for dry skin I'm open to that too. I prefer fruit scents as well..any suggestions?I love Lush & The Body Shop. Any specific product I should try?
Answer:
Use dishsoap. It's far more bubbly than any other regular bubble bath....Ombra has the best bubble bubble bathI was going to put something about farting but refrained.

Question : why do bubbles form during the reaction of mg and copper sulphate if none of the products are gas?
In the lab, we put a strip of magnesium and some copper sulphate solution together in a test tube. I noticed little bubbles rising up. None of the products( magnesium sulphate and cu) are gaseous so why the bubbling?
Answer:
Hi, It is because the copper sulphate solution still contains water, which will cause the side reaction (Mg + H2O ---> MgO + H2). Hope that helps :-) Also, keep an eye out for this sort of thing. It can mess with results of experiments....

Question : can pool liner bubbles be caused by an external seppage? also, how easy is it to make holes in a liner?
for example, can ants or a creepy crawly puncture the lining? Is there any definitive way to tell what caused it? Why would bubbles appear on completely opposite sides? Would this indicate holes on both sides appeared at the same time? That would be strange? Do the bubbles appear near the holes or anywhere they feel like it? If I find the holes (wouldn't they be visible?), how do I get rid of the bubbles?
Answer:
yep your liner sonds like its on the way out. it could be that its leaking ,if air comes in waters going out !bubbles on the same level but opposit sides indicates a detteration at that level. You can easily patch it at the bubble site; keep dogs out of the pool as they swim arond and scratsh with thier claws at the surface level. Bugs wont hurt the liner but people can

Question : How do I stop bubbles forming across the tint on my cars back window?
My car had its window tint done professionaly about 9 years ago, and its only just started to bubble across the middle on the back window. If there anything I can do to stop the bubbles running longer across my back window?Thank you so much for your input Mumsskanky, I have read your other answers, and you sure sound like loads of fun!
Answer:
Normally bubbles are formed from the air left between the film and window when it is installed, especially in direct sunlight. If your tint has been on for 9 years I would suspect that your bubbles are being caused by the film losing it's adhesion due to time. This is also what causes headliners to eventually fall down, especially in hot climates when windows are left rolled up tight! In such cases the only remedy is to have your windows re-tinted. There is a process avaliable where the tint is sprayed on, but I couldn't tell you about it's durability.

Question : How can I get rid of bubbles on the top of my fish tank?
I just purchased a 1.7 gallon tank for my two small fish, the problem is ever since I connected the pump to filter out any dibris in the tank the filter keeps producing alot of bubbles that float to the top of the tank. The instructions say that there is an imbalance in the tank if bubbles appear at the top of the tank, but it's been several days and the bubbles are still there. How can I get rid of them without turning off the filter/pump?
Answer:
I wouldn't worry about the bubbles. I'd worry about ANY fish put into a tank that is completely inappropriate.

Question : How do you minimize bubbles draining out of a washing machine?
Too many bubbles are causing damage to the sheetrock that houses the drain mounted on the wall behind my washing machine. Other than using very little detergent, I haven't been able to figure out what I could do that would reduce the bubbles formed during draining.
Answer:
I agree to try the new HE detergents. They are for front loaders but I don't see why you can't use them in a top loader. They are low sudsing.
