Questions & Answers
Question : Will the job market for lawyers be better in 5-7 years?
Depending on the pace I work at, I should be finishing law school in5 to 7 years, preferably from USC's or UCLA's schools of law. Is it possible that by that time the economy will be on an upswing and I'll be able to get hired at a good law firm? Please no rudeness. I'm not asking for someone to be a psychic and tell me what the market will be like, simply speculation, and how the ebb and flow of the economy effects the law profession, and if it immediately affects it. Thank you!
Answer:
I would say so. Recent statistics of Lawyer turnover and the fact that there are more lawyers then there are positions to be filled has many students runnig from the hills. Fewer and fewer people will apply over the next 3 years because of the fact there are simply too many people with law degrees. Also, many predict a rise in the economy within the next few years, neutralizing the imbalance notoriously located within the legal field. USC and UCLA are great law schools.

Question : I want to Invest in Share market for 5-7 Years. Pls suggest some long term fundametally sound shares...?
I want to Invest around 3-5 Lacs in Share market for 5-7 or even more years. Pls suggest me some fundametally and Technically Strong shares what I can buy and forget for 5 Years and can creat a good wealth at the end of such period...
Answer:
The margin of safety concept was applied by Warren Buffett during the initial years of his Investment career. Margin of safety allowed Investors to invest in stock market without risk. You need to time your entry into the stock market. What is the right time? If people knew the answer to this question then every investor and trader in this world would be Warren Buffett. But Benjamin Graham very carefully explained a logical and fool proof way of timing the your entry into stock market. To time your entry you need to know the “Intrinsic Value of Company”. It the the price of the stock is undervalued as compared to its intrinsic value, then it becomes a very good buy. The intrinsic value of a company is decided by four important business parameters 1. Companies assets 2. Earning 3. Dividends 4. Future earning power

Question : What's the resale potential in Warren, MI for a home in the next 5-7 years?
This is Northern Warren. Seems Warren, in general has a horrible reputation as being some sort of cesspool, not including Northern Warren. We dont' want to get stuck in a situation where nobody wants to buy because of the location. Is this being blown out of proportion? We're planning on staying for 5-7 years.
Answer:
While the north end is much nicer it will decline slowly with the Detroit and other southern 'burbs poor influences encroaching. Remeber, at one time sounth Warren was much nicer as was nothern Det. As you know almost no houses are selling yet so this is a great time to buy at a bargain price in a better (not borderline) area. I live in White Lake plenty of great deals in my area. Some house selling for $220 3 years ago going for $140 - $170 or so now.

Question : What professions are going to be high in demand in around 5-7 years?
I'm looking of going into a health related profession, which ones will be high in demand? Which undergraduate university programs do you need to complete for these professions?
Answer:
Up and coming fields are definitely in the sciences, especially geneticists. There is currently an effort in researching ways to produce things like gasoline, plastic, etc. through genetic cloning of bacterium or other cells. Making a discovery like this would pretty much save the world from the oil crisis, over harvesting, forest degradation, etc, although the likelihood of any one person making this discovery in the next few years is very slim. If that's not quite your field, I assume that most jobs will be in higher demand than they are now in 5-7 years, assuming the economy recovers within that time. Jobs not to get into include nursing, teaching, and other jobs that are obviously suffering. I also happen to have an aunt who used to be a hospital manager, who is currently out of a job, so strike that off of your list. I know a few people who are planning to work at Kaiser (where you work for like ten years nonstop and then get pretty much full retirement benefits if you're a doctor) and then plan to go on to do non profit work in places in need of doctors, like India, Africa, etc. or just in the same town they live in in America, but found a non profit hospital in the poorer part of town. So that's an idea if you want to be a doctor who makes a difference. Any way you go, you should be informed that there is basically no money in the health industry any more (as in you won't get rich being a doctor). But, if you really love what you do, it shouldn't matter. Okay, if you're still reading I hope I helped. ps. I only know all of this because my entire family is in the health field. Parents are doctors, everyone's somehow in health care, so I'm not just rambling, even though I have no cited sources. Anyway, good luck!

Question : What is the prognosis for US stocks in the next 5 years?
I am a financial planner working in Canada with my own perceptions of the US economy and stock markets but I'd like to hear the opinions of advisors or investors who reside in the US and are exposed to a more persistent and complete set of data. Aside from currency considerations what kind of 5 -7 year prognosis does the us stock market have?
Answer:
Over all there will be a sideways trend. Some highs and lows but a sideways trend. After that it will be a bull market once again.

Question : what type of mortgage loan should i get if i only plan on staying there 5-7 years?
i am a first-time home buyer, looking for advice on what type of mortgage loan i should get. do i need a 30 yr. or would it be better to do an ARM. this is just a starter home and i don't plan on being there longer than 5-7 years.
Answer:
NEVER do an ARM. As soon as the thing starts adjusting, your transmission will go out, your dog will get sick & you'll lose your job. It's Murphy's law. Take out a mortgage at a fixed rate on a 15 yr note w/ a pymt that is less than 30% of your take home pay. Put as much of a down pymt as you can muster.

Question : What mid-large cap stocks are most recommended now for a 5-7 year term with handsome profit margins ?
I know there is no perfect answer to this, but would like the opinion of some experts here. Having lost some money in a legal case, Im looking to accelerate my investment returns over 5 years and would like some recommendations on some good stock picks. Im not really a financial expert and the one's I have spoken too ( professional planners ) all seem to have their own agenda to push. Im confused ;(
Answer:
For me personally, Blue chips are probably even more risky than small cap stocks for a few reasons.1. we are back to irrational exuberence. There is no reason for stocks to be up this high and its just a matter of time before we have a major downward correction, and it will be HUGE correction so that means I will never be caught dead staying long term in a market that is on the edge of getting hit big.2. I like shorter term small cap picks with special situations. One I got into last year was vhc. They own the major patents for 4g secure connection and I got into it at a 4.71 average right after they won a 200 million dollar lawsuit against microsoft. They are now sueing apple, cisco, seimens and others. I sold the stock at 25.55 and if I wasnt forced to sell it for financial reasons I would still be in it right now. This is just one example of a good short term company with long term potentail. Now that I cant buy stocks fora while I like to find some picks for my friends for the heck of it. One im looking at now is igoi . They just turned profitable and also are in some research agreement with texas instruments to develop a chip that will reduce vampire battery loss. If they are on schedule by the end of teh year it will be huge.Look into joining a good stock forum like siliconinvestor and under the 5 dollars and under section there are many good stock pickers. Just be patient and dont pounce on a good stock pick unless you can get it for a bargain price, then you will increase your chances to make money percentage wise and lower your risk.It takes alot of research on your part, not just in finding a good company but also at understanding the mass herd and when to get in and when to get out of a stock. That means being totally unemotional and at the same time understanding the emotions of the mass of emotional traders. The advantage there is you will be getting out of stocks when emotions are at their peaks .Good luck buddy

I am purchasing a business and the note is for $240k for 5 years at 7%, with a balloon payment at the end of the 5th year. I want to know how to pay it off and pay the least amount of interest in the shortest amount of time.
Answer:
As with any loan, the only way to avoid interest is to pay it off as quickly as possible - through large payments.
